Context For Reverend Wright...(READ PORTIONS OF HIS SERMONS)
Townhall.com ^ | 4/25/08 | Hugh Hewitt

Posted on 04/26/2008 6:34:35 PM PDT by LJayne

In his interview with Bill Moyers, Pastor Jeremiah Wright blasted the media for failing to provide context to his much-condemned remarks.

On today's show I played great portions of his sermons from April 13, 2004 and from September 16, 2001. I will post the audio here later.

Pastor Wright has a legitimate complaint that only sound bytes have been played, but until today I had no other material to work with. The pastor could help us all if he would release recordings of all of his sermons, and Moyers ought to have asked for just that. If you are going to mount the defense of "out of context," then provide the context.

Please be aware that due to technical issues beyond our control, there is a thirty second ad at the beginning of each clip.

Seems like they were pretty damm proud of his sermons as long as they didn’t get taken seriously. I’ve been around some wonderful black church folks and heard sermons preached with passion like you don’t often see from white preachers. But I have never heard anything in any kind of a church like apparently comes routinely from the mouth of that man. “Reverend” my rump.

I only got 3/4 of the way through but that was enough. Rev Wright has only been taken out of context by Obama. Wright is a dangerous cult leader and madman.

Based on his continued support for Wright and his 20 year active membership in Wright's congregation, Obama is not fit to be President.

You just signed up on FR two weeks ago. Are you a Reverend Wright apologist? I don’t need someone else to interpret what the Reverend said. I can understand English, and his messag ecomes through loud and clear.

Read my post again. My point is that most people can understand English and we know what the Reverend Wright said.

I asked you, are you a Reverend Wright apologist? Did you sign up on here to defend the racist?

Actually I signed up March 15, 2008. Read FR for years but finally posted on March 15. Found most people here kind and polite but have only come across a few bullies, which you seem to be one.

Wright is a very dangerous man. He keeps telling his followers that whitey is the root of all the black man’s problems and fosters hatred and discontent among them.

I’m wondering what exactly might be a benign context for “KKKA of America” or “not God bless America but God damn America” or “America invented the AIDS virus to kill black people” - nobody’s fooled by Wright’s and his apologists’ complaint that he was taken out of context.......

Is English YOUR first language? I’m trying to figure what you don’t like about the post from Hewitt’s web site.

Why are you busting ugly on the poster?

Lay off LJayne. You are reading Hugh Hewitt’s words and taking issue with them. LJayne was just posting Hewitt’s words. Take issue with Hewitt if you want, or if you think
that makes sense. And we’re all too familiar with the “gotcha, Newbie” type of aggression we see in your post. Do your homework before you go after someone.

This is not preaching. This is indoctrination into a Marxist/Leninist anarchist type of cult wher the people are being hypnotized into zombies with the constant hate America and “whity” rhetoric.

Thanks LJayne, and thanks to Hugh Hewitt.

From Wright’s “indoctrination camp”, as found on Hewitt’s site:

“This government lied about their belief that all men were created equal. The truth is, they believed all white men were created equal. The truth is, they did not believe that even white women were created equal, in creation nor in civilization. The government had to pass an amendment to the Constitution to get white women the vote. Then, the government had to pass an equal rights amendment to get equal protection under the law for women. The government still thinks a woman has no rights over her own body, and between Uncle Clarence, who sexually harrassed Anita Hill, and a closeted Klan Court that is a throwback to the 19th Century, hand-picked by Daddy Bush, Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, between Clarence and that stacked Court, they’re about to undo Roe V. Wade, just like they’re about to undo affirmative action. The government lied in its founding documents, and the government is still lying today. Governments lie. Turn to your neighbors and say governments lie (audience responds). The government lied about Pearl Harbor. They knew the Japanese were going to attack. Governments lie. The government lied about the Gulf of Tonkin. They wanted that resolution to get us into the Vietnam War. Governments lie. The government lied about Nelson Mandela, and our CIA helped put him in prison, and keep him there for 27 years. The South African government lied on Nelson Mandela. Governments lie. Turn back to your neighbor and say it again. Governments lie (audience responds). The government lied about the Tuskegee experiment. They purposefully infected African-American men with syphilis. Governments lie. The government lied about bombing Cambodia. And Richard Nixon stood in front of the camera, let me make myself perfectly clear, we are not...governments lie. The government lied about the drugs for arms Contra scheme, orchestrated by Oliver North, and then they pardoned, the government pardoned all of the perpetrators, so they could get better jobs in the government. Governments lie. The government lied about adventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. Governments lie. The government lied about a connection between al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein, and are connected between 9/11/01 and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Governments lie. The government lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq being a threat to the United States peace. And guess what else? If they don’t find them some weapons of mass destruction, they’re going to do just like the LAPD, and plant them some weapons of mass destruction. Governments lie. (applause)”

Get a grip. This is a valid and topical post. Lay off the poster. Sometimes it’s better to read the article before getting square in someone’s face.

Ya gonna bust my chops cause I’ve only been around since 2001?

It seems as we hear and read the sermons these snippets were taken from, as wright suggested, it sounds just as awful as the snippets. We do assume and jump to conclusions sometimes. But when we take the time personally to do the research we are able to make a judgment not because someone else told us what someone said but because we have heard for ourselves. The facts are terrible things!

So I believe it is relevant to ask BHO about Wright and his other friends we are finally finding out about and expect him to answer. We’re waiting BHO. . . . .

Wow, was watching that full sermon ever enlightening! The hatred, the ugliness, the derision, dare I say the bitterness, just drips off Rev. Wright's tongue. He calls Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas “Uncle Clarence”, George Bush “a dumb Dixiecrat” and Condaleeza Rice “Conda Skeeza Rice”. After hearing so many Wright apologists say he was taken out of context, it turns out the context is even worse than the sound bytes.
