IOW, Pelosi is saying, "Damn...how are we going to get the deceased and illegal alien vote now?"

American citizens who wish to vote must be able to do so.”

No matter living or dead, legal or illegal, etc.

Requiring American citizens pay for underlying documents needed for an identification card and travel to distant motor vehicle locations for processing hinders—and diminishes—their right to vote.

Does everyone not have a birth certificate? If not, why not?

Pelosi conjures the no-longer existing spectre of ole grannies in Appalachia who've never been to town and who will now not be able to vote at the general store in order to cover for the millions of illegal aliens and dead people and liars on whom Democrats depend to maintain their majority.

Yeah, paying $10 every four years for an ID and finding one of the hundreds of BMV's located throughout the state is just too much to ask.

Unless you are an OpChaos operative, or unless this HRC/BHO slugfest goes on too long, or unless...

I wish Stretch Pelosi would point out the article in the Constitution that grants a right to vote in Federal elections.

I dunno. The disabled, elderly, and poor of all degrees seem to be able to make it to the social security office, unemployment office, and welfare office. They also seem to make it to the doctor when they are on medical assistance.

Perhaps we can use some of that extra tax revenue generated by the inflated gas price to subsidize Rainbow Coalition buses (who are going there anyway) to take these poor folks to get an ID while they're being registered to vote. /sarc

The right to vote is a foundation of our democracy

Sorry Nancy, we are NOT a democracy. And further, and more importantly, there is no constitutional right to vote. Period.

Hey Nancy! What about my right to not have my vote cancelled out by some dead guy or by a Democrat operative who spends all election day going from precinct to precinct, voting as many times as he can?

Nazi Pelosi is saddened that DemocRATS won't be able to steal elections as easily now in Indiana. Other states now need to follow Indiana's lead.

Tough, Nancy. Common sense prevailed. Suck on that.

And isn’t it strange that John Paul Stevens of all people wrote the 6-3 majority on this one? Wow.

Thank you for the posting.
I hope all 50 states adopt this legalizing of voter id's. I do have reservations with the law, that if this stops illegal voting the U.S will end up with a one party country. Conservative.

so the dems are mad that their ability to steal elections by voting multiple times will get harder... wah!

they whine about the ‘poor’ not being able to afford IDs to vote, but then how do they cash their checks without ID? How do they rent videos without ID? What happens if they get picked up by the local gendarmes?

it’s a bogus argument.

poor nancygoat! wahwahwah!!!!

There was a great multi-panel cartoon a couple months ago. Showed a guy cashing a check and showing ID, showed him renting a movie and showing ID, showed him buying beer and showing ID, showed him using a credit card and showing ID, showed him at the check in table at his voting location and screaming about being asked for ID being a burden on his attempt to vote.

“The right to vote is a foundation of our democracy. American citizens who wish to vote must be able to do so.”

The right to Keep and Bear Arms is a foundation of our democracy. American citizens who wish to Keep and Bear Arms must be able to do so.

Why do we never hear politicians, or advocates compare the two rights? Can anyone ever imagine Pelosi declaring that we must not ask for picture ID's when selling a gun, since after all it is a Right, and we can't put undo restrictions on Constitutional rights because the poor and minorities have such a hard time getting an ID.
