If John McCain wins the presidency, his comeback -- after the bankrupt debacle his campaign had become in the summer of 2007 with his backing of the amnesty bill -- will be the stuff of legend.
And as nominee, he is entitled to conduct his own campaign and be cut slack by a party whose brand name is now Enron.
That said, McCain seems to have decided to win by love-bombing the Big Media and putting miles between himself and the base.
Consider his "Forgotten Places" tour of last week.
It began in Selma, Ala., where McCain went to Edmund Pettis Bridge to hail John Lewis and the marchers night-sticked and hosed down by the Alabama State Troopers on the Montgomery march for voting rights.
Now that was a seminal movement in the fight for civil rights.
But this is not 1965. Today, John Lewis is a big dog in the "No-Whites-Need-Apply!" Black Caucus. The Rev. Jeremiah Wright is sermonizing White America. The Rev. Al Sharpton is trying to shut down the Big Apple. And the fight for equal rights is being led by Ward Connerly.

Pat= “conservative” Rev Wright....every time he opens his mouth these days...it makes me cringe.
I still don’t think McCain will win, but I do think conservatives shouldn’t sit this one out. More than ever, we need to support conservatives with our votes and money. McCain isn’t the only person running. Whether he wins or loses, we will need conservatives to stop him or the other Democrat.
sad to say anyway u slice it thats whats gonna happen. Any of the three of them will destroy this country....
I am split, if Hussein wins I’ll might hold my nose and pull for McPain ( Hussein worries me ), if Hilly wins I doubt I will vote since they are basically the same.
May you get the same when your state's turn comes.
This little portion of the right will be writing in a candidate at the top of the ticket. I'll be voting for local conservatives; not Republican, down the rest of it.
So, you think this country will be better of with the likes of Hitlery or Obama? Both will gut our military. Both will weaken our defenses to the point that when the next big attack comes we will not be able to respond. They will pull our military out of Iraq and turn all that oil revenue over to those who wish to not just “ruin” your “Phoenix Lifestyle”, but hack off your head with a dull blade. There’s much that I don’t like about McCain. But, the alternative is much much much worse.
I disagree with McCain about immigration and campaign finance reform, but he usually votes conservatively. According to www.vote-smart.org, these are some of his latest ratings from some famous interest groups: Gun Owners of America, 100%; Club for Growth, 100%; U.S. Chamber of Commerce, 100%; Citizens Against Government Waste, 91%; Americans for Democratic Action, 10%; NEA, 0%; and NARAL, 0%. He’s not the same as Hillary.
I’m voting for the candidate who will not surrender to the Islamic enemies we face today. I will vote for the candidate who will not abandon our soldiers or lose the mission politically. I will vote for the candidate who does not intend to gut our military and our defenses. After that, nothing else is important IMHO.
If so, then those that sit out have no right to whine and complain over the next 4 years.
What? A vote for R-U-N (away) Paul? Better than voting for someone who believes in our soldiers and their mission? Not IMHO!!!!
Enough Pat. When seeing the corruption, erruptions of the Barak, Hildabeast campaigns, the lies, Wright, the fact that both are socialist pacifists, I will vote for ole John but put most of my money and time in trying to aid House and Senate Pubs withstand the media and the Dem lies. It is Congressional elections that will decide our future. If Dems continue to lead in state legislatures,as well as Congress, we are surely doomed to a Third World status, a weak foreign policy, and a loss of our free enterprise system.
Some of these people are just idiots. Anybody who helps hillary or obama become President fits that description. To think a RINO like McCain is anywhere near as bad as either of them is idiocy.
He’s painting with too broad a brush. He hasn’t really represented the right in a long time.
He should have said Bitcons, short for Bitter Conservatives.
Probably some will, but I think most won’t. The alternative to McCain is just too dangerous.
It doesn’t matter because my vote won’t count. Maybe you should say that in Spanish.
Where did Buchanan tell you who to vote for?
