Hillary Clinton's inner circle now fears a stinging defeat is likely in North Carolina.
"Look, we worked hard and gave it our best shot, but the demographics, well, they are what they are," a top campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT as voting began Tuesday morning.
The campaign now believes a 15 point loss, or more, would not be surprising. Her team will work hard throughout the day to lower all expectations in North Carolina.
The campaign hopes media attention will stay fixated on the competition in Indiana, where 72 delegates are on the line, and Clinton internals show a victory!

North Carolina had been seen by Clinton insiders as the senator's last shot to seriously jolt the system and overshadow the math. With 115 delegates at stake, North Carolina posed an uphill battle for Clinton.
Obama easily carried the region in earlier voting, topping Clinton in Maryland by 23-points; Virginia by 29, South Carolina 28 and Georgia 36.
The campaign hopes to move quickly onto a victory next Tuesday in West Virginia, where only 28 delegates are at stake.
I doubt that Hillary will lose by that kind of margin in NC. I think the bloom is off the Obama rose and he will have trouble holding on to a win.
What’s the problem in NC? Are they really that clueless?
Not at all, they have figured out who Hillary Rotten Clinton is.
They are positioning. The message is: "Sure, blacks will vote for Obama, but most Americans won't. For the Novemebr election, demographics are what they are, so the Convention needs to pick Hillary."
Pure spin by the Hildabeast’s minions. When she loses by a single digit margin they’ll call her the Comeback Kid.
Simultaneously coy and repellent.
Their parents must be so proud.
This is just hype so a 6 point loss will be spun as a win.
If so, she’s toast. The superdelegates will bail like pirates on a sinking ship. Her years of lawless ruthlessness have finally caught up with her.
Personally, I’m hoping for a big Hillary win in Indiana, and a narrow Obama win in NC.
I’m not sure who the weaker candidate actually is. Obama will hold and increase the demonRAT lock on the black vote, with usual non-voters turning out and voting straight ticket D. I think he loses, but that effect if bad for the GOP downticket. Hillary will be perceived as ‘stealing’ the nomination, and while she’ll do better among the usual swing voters (the so-called Reagan Democrats), the black vote will stay home, and some may even decide to leave the plantation and split their ticket or vote GOP to punish the donks.
Either way, unless one of them delivers a knock-out punch before the convention and gets on-message with attacks on McCain, I think they lose in the fall (which, I think, is also Rush’s analysis, hence ‘Operation Chaos’.)
Clinton's problem is that NC is 25% black, which means that NC Democrats are something like 50% black.
Not to mention that there are a ton of college students in NC, who also favor Obama.
Operation Chaos. We’re not really that “clueless”.
Why don’t they send Bill Clinton out today and have him talk about how Jesse Jackson won North Carolina in the past (if true), or simply say something to minimize Obama’s expected victory. Bill Clinton seems to be the best spokesman to get Hillary’s talking points out there.
You got that right....Go for the jugglar now!!!Send that Skank and her husband back to Hell where they came from!!!!
My thoughts:
Classic Clinton politics. When you believe you are going to lose, spin it that you are expecting a huge loss. Then, when it is reasonably close, your people go out that evening and say how you really closed the gap and how your message is getting across to voters.
When you expect to win comfortably you say how nervous you are and how close it is going to be. Then you celebrate an unexpected blow out and gush over how people believe in the message.
It’s a very usual and normal game plan for them...
- Day before and day of a vote - lower expectations and pretend to be humble.
- Night and morning after - gloat about how great you are how the people love you.
Reading the tea leaves - if it were going to be a strong double digit win for BHO he would NOT have changed his schedule to go back to NC.
Demographics. Lotsa blacks in N.C., much more than Idiana.
I think you’re correct, sir.
