I doubt Governor Ruth Ann Minner read any of the letters. People need to respond to this woman and tell her that Ruth Ann Minner needs to take a serious interest in this case instead of hiding behind legal dogma.

Maybe some national tv time would encourage the governor to take this more seriously, but I wouldn’t want to do anything to go against Lauren’s father’s wishes, as he probably knows better than I do, what to do.

I sent the governor a letter very early on and emphasized her role as a governor, her powers, the failing of Florida and the potential for same in Delaware, her role as a grandmom and emphasized clemency, pardon, and that it was indeed an execution where she could intervene no matter how it was cut.

I suspect it was before the current filters were in place, but received no answer at all.

Lauren Richardson update...

Please note posts immediately before this one. Governor Minner it would appear, has set up a filtering system of lower ranking staffers to parry the blows with standard yet invalid arguments that it is separation of powers. As we know, it sure is separation of powers and a Governor should have the power to spare a life, right over the top of a decision by the Judiciary. The separation is a check on abuse of power, not a means.

At any rate, when the defense walls come up, I find little utility in banging against the wall. It can be more useful to jab at those with no defense wall and who can get to the Governor from another connection.

Recently I had to deal with a large company and explain how their local office appeared to be scamming. They had a set procedure for filtering complaints which as in this case would simply meet a dead end and a similar response to the one posted here. Instead, I searched and found several in lesser positions, in Public Affairs and completely different offices and contacted them instead. The response was swift and effective.
