Mexico City, Mexico (LifeNews.com) -- Euthanasia advocates worldwide are promoting Mexico as a destination to obtain drugs that elderly people or terminally ill patients can obtain a drug to kill themselves. A Mexico newspaper said at least 200 people from English-speaking countries have traveled there since 2001 to end their lives.
Exit International, a pro-euthanasia group from Australia, is behind the effort to promote the use of animal euthanasia drugs in Mexico to kill people......

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Michelle Obama, the attorney wife of pro-abortion Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, is coming under fire for a letter she wrote defending partial-birth abortions. The 2004 letter, written to help Obama in his campaign for his U.S. Senate seat, opposes the ban on the abortion procedure.
In February 2004, Michelle Obama penned a fundraising letter to help her husband Barack raise funds for his Illinois-based Senate seat.
The letter contends the federal ban on partial-birth abortions "is clearly unconstitutional" and "a flawed law."...

FYI, my e-mail response from Gov. Minner’s office:
“May 22, 2008
Governor Minner understands and appreciates your concern for Lauren Richardson. While this must be a very difficult time for Laurens family and friends, Governor Minner respects the legal process governing this case, the separation of power between the judicial and the executive branches of state government and has faith in the judicial branch to independently and objectively review the case. Governor Minner asks that Lauren and her family are in your thoughts and prayers during this trying time.

Some of you might have received the same form letter/e-mail.
That’s the same email I received. At least Governor Minner’s office mentions prayer. I hope she has a backup plan. It would be a shame if she didn’t have a backup plan....
Judicial tyranny: First at bat www.judgegeorgegreer.com (HOME RUN by the corrupted republican judge).
Yep, I got the same one.
The life of an innocent person is an executive (law enforcement) matter, NOT a judicial one.
Yes, also known as a “pardon”.
Or simply rescuing an abducted person from the people who are trying to harm her, like Jeb was thinking about doing with Terri but chickened out.

I doubt Governor Ruth Ann Minner read any of the letters. People need to respond to this woman and tell her that Ruth Ann Minner needs to take a serious interest in this case instead of hiding behind legal dogma.
People may also wish to email these individuals as well:
Mark Brainard
Chief of Staff
Phone: (302) 744-4101
E-mail: mark.brainard@state.de.us
Lorilee Harrison
Executive Assistant to the Governor
Phone: (302) 744-4102
E-mail: lorilee.harrison@state.de.us
Emails are also easy to ignore. People need to make phone calls, send faxes and make personal visits to the Governor’s office.
Pathetic!
This is being handed off to someone who mainly answers the phones.
“People need to make phone calls, send faxes and make personal visits to the Governors office.”
You are correct, and thank you for the contact info.
“This is being handed off to someone who mainly answers the phones.”
Maybe some national tv time would encourage the governor to take this more seriously, but I wouldn’t want to do anything to go against Lauren’s father’s wishes, as he probably knows better than I do, what to do.
“Yes, also known as a pardon.”
Maybe we need to send e-mails, faxes, etc., and put “PARDON Lauren” in the subject line.

I suspect it was before the current filters were in place, but received no answer at all.

Please note posts immediately before this one. Governor Minner it would appear, has set up a filtering system of lower ranking staffers to parry the blows with standard yet invalid arguments that it is separation of powers. As we know, it sure is separation of powers and a Governor should have the power to spare a life, right over the top of a decision by the Judiciary. The separation is a check on abuse of power, not a means.
At any rate, when the defense walls come up, I find little utility in banging against the wall. It can be more useful to jab at those with no defense wall and who can get to the Governor from another connection.
Recently I had to deal with a large company and explain how their local office appeared to be scamming. They had a set procedure for filtering complaints which as in this case would simply meet a dead end and a similar response to the one posted here. Instead, I searched and found several in lesser positions, in Public Affairs and completely different offices and contacted them instead. The response was swift and effective.
Here is how the Governor responds in The Passionate Prolifer. Thanks, Leslie.

GRAMMY GOV ADVOCATES PRAYER, WHILST THE "JUDICIARY" "objectively reviews"

LONDON, May 21, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The vice-chairman of the British All-Party Parliamentary Pro-Life Group (APPPLG), told the House of Commons yesterday that she is pro-abortion, but wishes women would choose life. The debates and the campaigns surrounding the Labour government's Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill have exposed the lack of an authentic pro-life viewpoint of some members of the APPPLG. They have also led some to question the integrity of the organisation as the pro-life voice of Parliament.
The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) has called for the immediate resignation of Mrs. Claire Curtis-Thomas, the Labour MP for Crosby, who told the House, "For the record, and contrary to many of the statements that I have read this week which purport to know my views, I am not opposed to abortion. I believe that women should have the right to choose; I just hope that they do not choose to have an abortion."...
