I have known for years that we have NA ancestors but one cousin does not want that fact mentioned. I feel sorry for him since that is what made us what we are today. Just wish I could find out more information on her.
I’m not familiar with what “NA” refers to.
On one side of my husband’s family they don’t want to admit that they have any Mexican blood but they still have the Mexican Land Grant nor will they admit to the Native American which makes him a full quarter Native American considering his paternal and maternal blood lines.
I agree that it is something to be proud of but there really have been times when it was best not known but that has passed. All 4 of my grandchildren have those black Mexican/Indian eyes even though 2 of them are blondes.
What is NA?
NA
What is a NA ancestor?
NA = ???
My late husband was surprised when a few years before she died his mother told him she was 1/8th Cree Indian. Apparently her male ancestor was a trapper in Canada and married? a Cree woman. My husband was a very blue eyed red head, so it was a big surprise. However, both sons have dark brown eyes (mine are hazel). My older son has a heavy build and very dark hair and is in Special Forces. My younger son has high cheekbones and almond eyes. Since my background is 1/2 Prussian German, I probably have some Asiatic Tartar in there. My younger son’s wife is Puerto Rican with some Taino Indian. One son looks typically Latino, the other son much less so. Genetics is really interesting. My husband was from Iowa where in the 1950s it was illegal for Indians to buy liquor. Thus the secret from his mother.
