In the article there is a graphic that says Buckles is the last American WWI vet, and the only other living vet is Canadian.

Can you believe we are down to the last two?

I mean, my husband’s grandfather fought in WWI for the Germans. My mother remembers the Civil War vets in the parades. It seems so strange. History hurtles on.

No, Harry Patch, a British veteran is still alive, as is Henry Allingham, the last founder member of the RAF and last surviving participant in the Battle of Jutland...
