Global warming could worsen HIV/AIDS epidemic

A number of studies have suggested that climate change could expand the range of tropical diseases like Dengue fever and Encephalitis. Now a researcher from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Australia says that global warming could lead to an increase in HIV infection rates worldwide.

In a panel discussion between top HIV researchers, Professor Daniel Tarantola said that warming could strain already meager health and social resources in the world's poorest and most vulnerable countries, worsening the incidence of HIV and other diseases.

"It was clear soon after the emergence of the HIV epidemic that discrimination, gender inequality and lack of access to essential services have made some populations more vulnerable than others. These problems have not gone away," Professor Tarantola said. "Today, additional threats are lurking on the horizon as the global economic situation deteriorates, food scarcity worsens and climate change begins to affect those who were already dependent on survival economies.

"Climate change will trigger a chain of events which is likely to increase the stress on society and result in higher vulnerability to diseases including HIV," he said.

If it’s hot people will wear less clothing. This will incite them to have more sex...

Am I close?

My budget problem will be solved ... wait maybe thats why all of these global warming studies are coming out ... nah it could be. Could it?

Given that ocean temperatures are regarded as a major indicator of global warming activity, the slight decrease in ocean temperatures indicated by the Argo System oceanic temperature probes over the past several years reflects on the politically correct foundation of AGW alarmism.

Clearly you are heaping unfair criticism on the Bush people. No bean supplier would order you out for your anthropogenic methane.

Nope, note even close. You are using logic. Global warming disicples have no room for logic.

Yeah, it's got to be much shorter than the list of things that are caused by globull warming.

"Climate change will trigger a chain of events which is likely to increase the stress on society and result in higher vulnerability to diseases including HIV,"

Out of all the human behaviors that feed the horrid plague of Aids, the left wing nuts focus on carbon emissions.

How can you argue against such stupidity? Where can you start with a mind that can reach such a conclusion?

"I have had an epiphany:":

"Apparently the cause, the nexus of all things, has been and is caused by "Global Warming".

Climate change will trigger a chain of events which is likely to increase the stress on society and result in higher vulnerability to diseases including HIV.

So what exactly is this chain of events? How do you get from point A to point Z here? Global warming causes more stress, so people have sex to relieve the stress, therefore increasing their vulnerability to HIV (um, although I think that would depend on whom they have sex with)? Is that it? I don't get it. Of course, I assume I'm not really supposed to, and I'm not supposed to question it either. Just nod and agree.

To inject a bit of logic into the absurdity, I would think that global cooling would be the more likely culprit. Gotta get warm somehow, if you know what I mean.
