Today Barack Hussein Obama claimed that Kennedy talked with Kruschchev during the Cuban Missile Crises, and as a result, the the Russian removed these missiles from Cuba. Unfortunately for BHO, no such event ever took place.
Quote
"But when the world was on the brink of nuclear holocaust, Kennedy talked to Khrushchev and he got those missiles out of Cuba."
It was Bobby Kennedy who gave Dobrynin the ultimatum to the Soviets to remove the missiles the Cuba.
No one in the press ever challenged him.
You are correct, we removed all the short range missiles from Turkey and Iran.
I was too young during the crisis, but remember reading, during the 10th anniversary, that Bobby Kennedy went to the russian embassy pleading with the ruskies to defuse the crisis, because the WH was afraid of a military coup d’etat.
How true it is I do not know; but the movie “10 days in may” was adapted from that.
Kennedy (as most libs do) made a deal with the USSR that if they pulled their missiles out of Cuba we would pull ours out of Turkey. Who at the time was a member of NATO.
I think Turkey is still mad at us for that.
Why don't we seize the opportunity provided by the MSM's deification of Obama to permanently de-claw the IRS and get God back into the public school classrooms?
This post (<-click), while addressing taxes, helps to explain why government "leaders" like Obama are actually in contempt of the Constitution that they have sworn to defend, foolishly following in the footsteps of FDR's dirty federal spending politics.
In fact, the article referenced below shows that Obama is the #1 federal spending proposer in the Senate for '08; Clinton is #2.
Obama, a big-shot federal spenderAnd this post (<-click) exposes how corrupt justices then began using FDR's politically correct license to ignore the 10th A. to unlawfully stifle traditional family values, including the USSC's scandalous legalization of abortion in Roe v. Wade. Note that the post first references two non-abortion cases in order to show Roe v. Wade in a different, troubling perspective.
In fact, consider that the states have the constitutional power (10th A.) to authorize public schools to lead non-mandatory (14th A.) classroom discussions on the pros and cons of evolution, creationism and ID, as examples, regardless that atheists, separatists, pagan-minded judges and the MSM are misleading the people to think that doing such things in public schools is unconstitutional.
The people need to reconnect with the Founder's division of federal and state government powers. The people then need to wise up to the major problems that, since the days of FDR's dirty politics, Congress has not only not been operating with the restraints of the federal Constitution, particularly where constitutionally unauthorized federal spending is concerned, but the USSC has wrongly been ignoring the 10th A. protected power of the states to address religious issues.
The bottom line is that the people need to get in the faces of judges, demanding that judges uphold their oaths to defend the 10th A. protected powers of the states to address religious issues - or get off the bench. The people also need to send big-shot, Constitution-ignoring federal spenders like Obama home as opposed to trying to send people like him to the Oval Office. The people need to get in the faces of members of Congress, demanding a stop to constitutionally unauthorized federal spending while appropriately lowering federal taxes - or get out of DC.
Lincoln put it this way.
"We the People are the rightful master of both congress and the courts - not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution." --Abraham Lincoln, Political debates between Lincoln and Douglas, 1858.
Not quite. Dobrynin's memoirs are the most reliable source on this subject. He says, clearly, that Bobby Kennedy offered a quid-pro-quo -- NOT AN ULTIMATUM -- that the U.S. would remove its missiles from Turkey if the Soviets removed their missiles from Cuba, BUT would insist on deniability, i.e., the U.S. would deny they offered to remove missiles from Turkey if the Soviets revealed this publicly. It was a political powerplay unparalleled in U.S. history: a coverup intended to re-elect JFK to the Presidency in 1964 and RFK to continue a Kennedy dynasty for another two terms after JFK. Of course, if the quid-pro-quo had been known, as a fact, to the U.S. public, the exercize would have had no political advantage for the Kennedys, who would, as in the Bay Of Pigs, have been seen as 'soft'. It makes the Watergate coverup look like what it was: the thinnest scandal in U.S. history. Notably, David Mark did not even include Watergate in his article on the 'The Ten Worst Political Scandals In U.S. History', but he should have included the Kennedy/Dobrynin one.
The notion that the U.S. and the Sovets were eyeball-to-eyeball and that the "Soviets blinked", as Dean Rusk famously said, was Democrat hogwash. The quid-pro-quo deal, in which the U.S. carried out its part of the bargain, was speculated at the time, but the unequivocal evidence only came with Dobrynin's memoirs. Another false front (coverup) at the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis, about which the U.S. public had no idea, was that the U.S. then, in 1962, had an enormous strategic advantage over the Soviets in ICBMs. It was not until years later that the U.S. public learned JFK had lied through his glistening white teeth when he spoke of the missile gap in the Soviets favour under Ike, a false charge that no doubt got him enough additional votes to defeat Nixon in 1960. At the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis, the U.S. had about 125 - 200 ICBMs and the Soviets had 5, maybe 10 at most, and they were much less accurate than the U.S. missiles. It was a David (Soviets) and Goliath (U.S.) situation.
Khrushchev would have been delighted to see JFK continue in office. The last thing he wanted was to face down Nixon or Goldwater, and if Nixon had won the Presidency in 1960, there never would have been a Cuban Missile Crisis. The Russians would never have dared to undertake such a "hare-brained scheme" with Nixon in office, and if Khrushchev had met Nixon at Vienna, he'd have confirmed the opinion he had already formed after VP Nixon's visit to the USSR, when he addressed the Soviet public on TV and he convinced Khrushchev in their 'kitchen debate' that Nixon was the bad, bad Leroy Brown of U.S. politics, someone not to be trifled with.
Awesome video:
The same kind of terrorists who support Obama did this:

Never apologize for them.
Never appease them.
Never forget.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
probably getting his info from an Oliver Stone script.
It sure is an issue as there’s a heck of a difference between talking to the foe and delivering an ultimatum to said foe.
The deal theystruck was Russian missles out of Cuba, American missles out of Turkey.
Kennedy's hagiographers have screwed up history with their glorification of "Camelot" and everything Kennedy.
Sounds like you forgot about Kennedy agreeing to remove Jupiter IRBMs from Italy and Turkey in exchange for Khrushchev removing his missiles from Cuba.
BS
Turkey and Italy
Obama is spinning and lieing to fit history into his own bottle...but that tonic will not cure us, it will destroy us. Some of us who lived through those days remember and have not forgotten what actually happened.
Ciontrast that to what this American-hating appeaser is proposing.
Great picture!
“People forget....Kennedy didnt just sit down and have a talk with them. He told them to get the missles out of Cuba and turn their ships around or he would blow them out of the water. He was 30 minutes away from pushing the button. Theres a big difference here.”
The History Channel covers the Kennedys and the missile crisis quite a lot. Years ago on one of the programs it said that if Khrushchev had called Kennedys bluff, Kennedy would have backed down and let the Russian ships through. Don`t know if it`s true or not.
Just read the cue cards,sir...please!

The Cuban crisis was a main factor. Did you know that the hotline was a Telex 9teletype), not a phone?
Teletype.
