However I am glad that KFC has moved away from the transfat oil they went to when they moved away from saturated fats in the 90s as well.

Whenever they changed to the low sat fats (high trans fat) oils, their chicken would tear my innards appart every time I ate it. I don’t know what blend or forumula they were using it, but it was holy unnatural.

Having enjoyed KFC my entire life up till that point with no problems, it was night and day when they made the switch. Now that they have moved away from that oil, I can once again eat their food without having my inards decide they want to be my outards within 30 minutes.

The hydrogenated oils, are completely unnatural, and it is insane that “health nuts” pushed restaraunts toward them. I can tell you the shortening used in yellow hostess cupcakes must be the same stuff that KFC used to use as well, because they have the exact same effect.

You said "Banning trans-fats will do nothing to reduce the incidence of chronic heart disease."

That's correct. And as proof, I offered CHD stats showing that even though consumption of trans fats have increased dramatically since the early 90's, the incidence of CHD related deaths has been plummeting. Claiming something is a problem and proving it are two very different things.

Even if we replaced all trans fats with saturated fats (we wouldn't), we would still be better off.

No, we'd just be empowering the food Nazi's further by surrendering more of our freedom to choose. As a conservative I find that an unacceptable alternative.

If you could prove that we'd be better off eating saturated fat instead of trans fat you'd do it.

Trans fats are worse for your heart than saturated fats.

Because you say so? LOL! C'mon, CHD death rates have been dropping like a rock and you want us to believe that TFA's are somehow deadly for our heart health?

If you aren't willing to admit that then the rest of your argument is pointless.

I draw my conclusions based on the scientific evidence available. My education and work history has trained me well to do so. The only reason you find my argument pointless is because have have no argument to begin with.

Have a good day and enjoy your Crisco sandwiches!

I highly recommend you purchase and read a book on basic nutrition. It will prevent you from making misinformed posts in the future that support attempts to control our freedom based on specious science and false claims of conservatism.

They still don’t taste as good as they did back in the day when they were fried in what I believe the company called Fomula 47, which was 97% beef fat.

Ah...back when a regular sized fries satisfied your hunger. People didn't need to "super-size" until they quit selling real food.
