Thanks so much for your kind thoughts regarding my latest unpleasantness. As often happens, reports of my imminent demise are greatly exaggerated. I’ve been fighting a bowel obstruction for the last month, and won’t travel until we get it fixed. Hence, the speech cancellations.
We’ve embarked on a pretty aggressive course of treatment, and I’m on the mend. As for cancer, all the signs are good: Treatments are working, and genetic tests indicate that a new course of treatment has a good chance of real success.
So thanks, as always, for the thoughts and prayers — and continue sharing them with each other for others in need (like Jim Rob). I can’t tell you what a source of strength and reassurance you are.
The day before yesterday it popped into my head to start wondering out loud to my husband about what you are currently doing and then yesterday there was news that you weren’t feeling well. So today I am so happy to hear from your own fingers that things are going well. So I’m sending up a thank you prayer and also a request for continued good news—strength, healing and long life.
Tony, best wishes for your continuing, successful treatments. You are in my prayers and thoughts, and you are one heck of a brave and courageous man.

My dear friend would have had longer with us if she hadn’t had a secondary infection after the aggressive treatment of her bowel obstruction (she had a slow-growing liver and pancreatic cancer but tumors were shrinking). So prepare as if you know infection’s coming and get them to be ready for IV antibiotics.
Your kids need you and so does the rest of the world still. You aint goin’ nowhere.
