I told her neither. That I was for Mitt Romney.
She went silent for a minute and then commented about how she didn’t even know he was in the race. This was in the most heated moments of the campaign. Just before Iowa.
I think that’s very telling about the media Europeans are fed. This particular girl is generally fairly well informed. But you could tell where the media focus was.
Although I am not European I agree with you. Look at Italy for example. They just had a national election where they ushered in an overwhelming majority of center - right and hard right wing politicians. They tossed the left out on their proverbial asses. From what I read no green politicians were elected for the first time in decades. Not one.
It seems that the Italians who were polled have missed the news about Obama that has surfaced since mid - February. They are still in love with the concept of Obama.
