He suggested the first town hall be held June 12 in New York.

Hussein will decline the invitation indicating a scheduling conflict with Juneteenth celebrations throughout that week. He will however indicate that he will be available for debate sometime after the 33rd of the month.

Considering how often the taller man is elected president, I’m not sure we want Juan standing next to Barry any more than necessary.

Al Gore and John Kerry... both taller than Bush.

"Obama is terrible without a rehearsed script. He’d never agree to this."

Well then he won't be President will he....

The more we see of the candidates together, the better.

I sure hope that we can move beyond the negativity and depressing campaign run by the Clintons in the primary.

And I also hope we can move beyond feelings about issues such as national health insurance and talk about the costs and benefits of doing something like that. I hope we can talk about how socialized medicine sounds wonderful, but someone will have to pay many hundreds of billions to make it happen, and talk about whether it’s worth it.

And I hope they can talk about this business of America not being respected in the world. What exactly would Obama have done after Sept. 11th? What exactly do you do with terrorists? How can Obama sit and negotiate with these people when their opening statement was to crash planes into buildings?

There are a lot of important issues that should be discussed.

It’s an interesting thing ...

Obama is great with prepared speeches ... but without a teleprompter he’s an accident waiting to happen.

McCain is awful with prepared speeches ... maybe the worst major nominee in a long, long time on that score (even Dole could sometimes come through with a rough-hewn eloquence) ... but McCain is really pretty good in interviews, debates, town halls, etc.

Which of the 57 states wil they debate in? Maybe where the 10,000 people died in the tornado?

Now...Here's a job for Hillary.

Dear Hillary: This is how your experience can help. Find me some plants for these Town Hall meeting with McPain...that can't be connected back to me...I'll pay off $1 mill of your debt for your "services". BHO

Yep, he can’t duck this stuff forever, it will show he is unprepared and afraid to tackle tough questions. It will expose how truly inept he really is and McCain knows this. At least Mccain has been prepared for the questions he has been asked and doesn’t duck the chance to answer them, this is because he does have experience and is more prepared and confident to take on the job of POTUS. He may not be the perfect choice of most of us but the alternative is totally unacceptable. OMG I cannot stress how totally unacceptable it REALLY is!

I’ve seen Mccain at his townhall meetings. Its a better format for him then just giving a speech. He also handles the hecklers fairly well.

McCain is right about Goldwater and Kennedy. It would actually be nice to have these events without the spin room filter.

McCain needs to up the ante and say no media-controlled debates until Obama completes a given number of representative Town Hall meetings.

The audience needs to be truly random, not pre-screened political hacks and the locations need to be more diverse than media centers, college campuses and other places controlled by the left.

Of course, if the topic becomes illegal immigration, I can imagine this dialog:

M: Illegal immigrants are children of God and we need to deal with them humanely (amnesty).
O: What good is a "path to citizenship" without a right to welfare, free health care and driver's licenses?

But both incredible doofuses! And you didn’t see Bush looking for extra opportunities to pal around on stage with them, did you?

Why not go all the way and use his best format—a cross-country bus tour with the national press.

God, I could only listen to about 45 seconds of McCain talking. He's going to get crushed in the debates. This sucks so bad I can barely stand it.

He sounds old, confused and the tone of his voice reminds me of the old guy on the Simpsons.

Obama is an islamic/marxist tool and McCain is just a frickin' tool.

How did we get to this?

I'm going to pay more taxes because of global warming that doesn't exist, protect bears in danger of dying out but whose population has increased, and support citizens from other countries because we will not secure our borders.... but insist that Iraq secure it's border in order to restore the peace......

What the f?

We live now in a HD world. McCain would come across as a old man on the plasma TV.

No matter what he said, the orator skills[Lacking susbstance] would kill McCain even if he said nothing.

He also handles the hecklers fairly well.

The hecklers are everyday American citizens who ask him immigration questions.

He sure does take care of them. He has his goons eject them from the room.

McCain knows that Obama is a speech machine. Off the cuff he doesn’t shine, especially when trying to cover socialism as “the middle”.
