They might be talking about how we had so called leaders believe in a mythologic human contribution to warming in the face of temperature declines and failed to drill where the last bastion of a representative democracy had millions of barrels of oil. Thereby allowing itself to be bankrupted by bureaucrats, socialists, communists and a boredom of a civilized society.
They might talk about how republics allowed their borders to be settled and taken over by an alien culture that had no loyalty to the culture and civilization of the home country.... just like the visigoths....just like the latin americans....
They might talk about how a former leader of the country allowed the Chinese to obtain then disseminate the technology that led to its downfall.
Finally about the "surge" winning the "war". You don't get the big picture or maybe it's just a matter of semantics. The "war" is global in nature and involves a worldwide anti-American, anti-Capitalistic, guerilla war that will have to be fought for the next several generations.
We are killing the jihadist in the mountains of Afghanistan, jungles of Philippines, Iraq, Africa, and by the end of the next administration, in South America and the United States. The surge is helping to pacify Iraq. Until they have a representative form of government with property rights and rule of law they will remain a thugocracy...... the new boss will be the same as the old boss.

Earth to Dick Vomer. It is no longer 1861 or 1862 or 1863 or 1864 or 1865. It is now 2008, the War of the Late Unpleasantness is over and Texas is once again part of the Union.
