I wonder if it is possible to lay this basket of failure on the Democrat's doorstep.

The Republican party is just as responsible for this mess. This goes beyond partisan politics into malfeasance and abdication of responsibility.

Incumbents, no matter what party, are toast. No one is going to listen to BS when the economy is in the toilet.

You would think that President Bush, knowing the needs of the oil companies, would have waged a war of words to push the domestic drilling. Maybe he thought that Iraq oil would have become available to increase the world supply.

I think the dominant issue will be the cost of energy. The party that comes up with a clear message about a solution will win.

I think we should pull out the list and check the voting records for who is responsible for our energy disaster. A governor gets thrown out for call girl dalliance, and nobody blinks an eye at putting the US economy on a train wreck because of energy malfeasance.
