America would be a much better nation if we all lived each day by the Scout Oath, the Scout Law, Scout Motto, and Scout Slogan.

Checks ran on time....copies made and distributed. Now to see if all the jillion corrections took.

Hope your Dad is doing well. My Dad has his first appointment tomorrow. He has regular blood work and said he was going to drive today! I’m hoping that this will start him back on track.

So far just tests being done. Been watching the test results as they print out/displayed on the CRT, the expression/behavior of the MedTest nurse, and Dad as he’s undergoing the tests; I’m no DR but so far all looks normal

Vigil to be Held Tonight:

The past 24 hours has been a very difficult day for our Scouting family. We will hold a vigil ceremony at 7 p.m. tonight at the Durham Scout Center in Omaha (located at 12401 West Maple Road), to pay tribute to those involved in the tornado tragedy at Little Sioux Scout Ranch yesterday evening. Additional vigil parking will be available at Tranquility Park, 12550 West Maple Road.

At tonight’s vigil, we will give Scouting families and the community a chance to honor the Scouts who lost their lives or were injured, as well as a chance to celebrate the heroic efforts of their fellow Scouts. The Mid-America Council would like to continue to again thank the community for its gracious support and prayers.

“It’s both my saddest day as a Boy Scout and my proudest day as a Boy Scout,” said Lloyd Roitstein, Scout Executive for the Mid-America Council.

News Conference Tomorrow Morning:

We are planning to conduct a press conference tomorrow morning, providing continual updates as new information becomes available throughout the day. Media inquires, call 214.443.7580.

Unauthorized Solicitation of Funds:

We appreciate the many offers for financial assistance that we have received in recent hours, but we have no current plans to establish a victim’s fund. Our primary interest is in meeting the immediate needs of the Scouts and their families to the best of our ability. We anticipate there will be several funds established and fundraisers planned in the coming weeks to benefit the Scouts and their families impacted by this tragic event and we will fully support those efforts.

Access to Site:

We are working to open up the camp site as quickly as possible – however, we are still working with insurance claim adjusters and local officials. Immediately following the completion of the adjusters’ review, the site will be open to the media.

Grief Counseling:

Anyone that would like to talk to a grief counselor regarding the tragedy at Little Sioux Scout Ranch can call (402) 717-HOPE (4673). Alegent Health Crisis Management has set up two locations for Scouts and Scouters to speak with.

Location 1: Immanuel Medical Center located at 6901 N 72nd Street in Omaha. Counselors will be available from 9:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday.

Location 2: Community Memorial Hospital located in Missouri Valley, IA. Counselors will be available from noon to 8:00 PM on Thursday.
