'If it were up to me, I would kill him'

PUYALLUP, Wash. -- The woman accused of beating up and threatening a sex offender who had moved into her neighborhood says she was only trying to protect her daughter.

Tammy Lee Gibson told investigators she beat up William A. Baldwin with a baseball bat outside his home earlier this week. Gibson said she wouldn't hesitate to do it again, even as she faces assault and felony harassment charges.

While awaiting trial in jail, Gibson told KOMO News on Thursday she has no regrets.

"If it were up to me, I would kill him. I would kill him," she said.

According to police documents, Level-3 sex offender William A. Baldwin had moved into his uncle's Puyallup home earlier this month. Following his move, Pierce County deputies distributed flyers around the neighborhood to alert residents of his presence.

On Monday Gibson, an area resident, went to Baldwin's house in the 1800 block of River Road and asked for him.

When Baldwin stepped outside, she claimed she was going to kill him because Baldwin had molested her children. Gibson then proceeded to hit Baldwin repeatedly with her bat, the document said, leaving him with an injured arm.

Kiddie porn and child molestation charges are the new Salem witch trials.

Please refer me to the post in which I stated that we need to get rid of the leagl system. ...Until then, we need to do whatever we have to do to assure we and our families are protected.

Such as beating the crap out of a person outside the legal system?

We all recognize that the guy is scum, and that he has scarred the little girls for life....but either make the law right, or accept that his sentence is what the law says it is. Beating someone with a baseball bat is anarchy, mob-rule low-brow Jesse Jackson Muqtada al-sadr crap.

As I said in my first post (which by the way, was only about half tongue in cheek, not like this one), personally I do not go in for such public demonstrations, but, if that is what it takes, yes.

And by the way, one person beating another is ASSAULT; it is NOT anarchy, nor is it “mob rule”. It is assult.

Anarchy is when the government has failed in its responsibilities at almost every level, criminals are not held accountable for their actions and are left free to prey on the public, and law abiding citizens are, for the most part, left to fend for themselves.

Mob rule occurs when the citizens get tired of anarchy.

And if we don’t fix our badly broken legal system, you might want to prepare yourself for some serious low-brow, Muqtada al-sadr crap.

Let’s throw another log on the fire...

Thread yesterday said the guy is 7 feet 3 inches tall. Kinda hard to miss in a crowd...

No, she shouldn’t have immediately gone after him with a bat, but it would cross my mind had I been told he’d been seen ‘chatting up’ my 10 year old daughter as a poster yesterday said another article stated.

My daughter just found out there is a ‘sex offender’ in her apart. complex and you can see a grade school from her front door. We are not pleased. I told her she needs to check with the complex office and someone report it to the police if it’s true. Yeah, he might have drunkenly wizzed on a tree at 1am, but we don’t know what he did and it pays to be watchful. Baseball bat yet? Nope. A couple of years from now when our now 2 month old granddaughter is an ‘attractive’ preschooler... We’ll see...

LOL. So it was just half tongue in cheek! That's good. I was taking your post too seriesly.

So rather than vigilante justice outside the bounds of the law, you're just suggesting that people perform extra-judicial ASSAULT and then turn themselves into the judicial system for the consequences of meting out extra-judicial punishment.

Sounds fair. Except that she wasn't planning on taking her lumps but began by lying about the guy's action.

Oh, and if you're planning on meting out some of what we used to call "Lynch Law" justice, muqtada-style here in Texas, you'd better be ready to have your own damn head blown off and the State will back up the person you were ASSAULTing based on self-defence.

Easy to talk big on this anonymous forum, Wayne. But no group of big-talkers are going to get up off their fatasses from the keyboard and go lynch someone these days. Thank goodness. Enjoy your fantasies, but, no.

Your gang/Lynch mentality don’t fly with me, sir.

The fact is, this guy apparently served his debt to society as written in the law. Take it up with the judge and the legislature if you’ve got a problem with his punishment.

This woman deserves to go to jail, and her child will now be subjected to all sorts of ridiculous state intervention...which makes that mother’s idiotic impulsive assault even more reprehensible. Parenting requires a thought process more advanced than the child being ‘protected.’

And you will limit your silly bravado to typing on FR or you’ll get yourself killed, or worse....at least in an armed, civilized society such as I live in. Don’t know what kinda world you live in.

I never mentioned a gang or a lynching in ANY of my posts.

You are the one who brought them up.
