"CBS News Portrays $7 Gas as Positive"

CBS News is also under the impression that they are a News organization.

Seems they're ignoring the fact that all other prices will skyrocket. At some point hungry, jobless people may take action against those who are trying to kill them.

It think $7.00 a gallon gas is part of that “new direction” that “americans” have been telling the pollsters that they want to go in. That and adding a hammer and sickle to the stars and stripes. Old Glory decked out in red and yellow instead of red, white and blue after January 2009 is really going to be an eye opener.

How long before these libtards want another hike in the minimum wage to offset the cost of gas for lower income people?

Of course it’s positive.

The people this will force out of their cars aren’t enlightened newsroom people. It’s something that’ll happen to those bitter religious folks in small towns that you see on TV.. why they’re barely people at all, what’s a little want and inconvenience for them when carbon footprints are at stake?

Pass the beaujolais!

Although $7 gas would do the most harm to low-income Americans, David praised the effects it would have in easing congestion.

...especially at the grocery store, where there would be far fewer people in line, because they'd spent all their money on gas. These upscale liberal weasels just have no clue of the pain some people are in. Anyone who can up their charitable giving at all, please do so. These are our neighbors. I just found out the people three doors down from us walked away and let the bank take their house.

PELOSI-REID CONGRESS PUTS MOTORING PUBLIC AT HIGHER RISK!

— NEW MPG STANDARDS REDUCE SAFETY OF VEHICLES TO UNACCEPTABLE

LEVELS FOR CRASHWORTHINESS!

— designers of cars have reached a Point of Diminished Safety as they are forced

to use more and more light materials that expose driver and passengers to

greater physical harm in a crash! Slower speeds would help but they are not

enforceable in the American Culture! Problem? Lack of Personal Discipline in our

rank-and-file population!

— putting POLITICS above the SAFETY OF THE CITIZEN IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!

— should POLITICIANS who cannot pass an 8th grade science test decide what

kind of cars and products you should buy?

— WHERE DO THEY FIND THEIR EXPERTS WHO TESTIFY REGARDING SCIENCE &

TECHNOLOGY? ANSWER: UNIVERSITIES, GREEN THINK TANKS &

PROFESSORS WHO WANT MULT-MILLION DOLLAR GOVNMT RESEARCH

GRANTS!

The moonbats and drive-by's think this is great. A great way to destroy the automobile as we know it, oil companies, suburbs, the whole bit. And it'll be quicker that the global warming slow death to the economy.

I think this will really boomerang on them, though. The American people are getting more and more fed up with the Pelosi-Reid run-up in gas prices.

Behave like Europeans? Did the idiots who wrote this piece actually have a clue about how bad traffic is in any major European city? Apparently $10 a gallon gas isn’t causing people there to abandon their cars.

(It would certainly ease congestion.)

He’s actually right. I already can see a difference on the roads. This will mean that only the rich will be able to drive, and they will enjoy less congestion. So much for liberals caring for the poor! We now know that between their socialist agenda and the poor which one is more important!

IF they so badly want us to behave like Europeans, lets by all means do so.

Let’s start by upping the amount of our electricity produced by nuclear (Europe has far more than the US), and lets start importing their European diesel vehicles too (some of which get 75 mpg)!

CIBC based its prediction on $200-per-barrel oil by 2010.

2010?? Yeah right. Oil could be $200 a barrel by the end of this summer.

10 million vehicles off U.S. roads

How will they ever make up all that lost revenue. Hmm.

forecasted $7-a-gallon gas prices by 2010, which according to some analysts would force 10 million vehicles off U.S. roads over four years.

Sending 20+ million illegals back home will get 10 million vehicles off the road as well. That would also go a long way toward fighting the dreaded urban sprawl.
