There are serious problems with this article. The focusing of energy is done all the time with parabolic dish antennas and other directional antennas. Waveguides and putting energy into other matter is also done all the time (look at your microwave oven), it does not create anti-matter. Then there is the thin metal disks with spacing, radio frequency vs. light, etc. It has been understood for a long time that electromagnetic energy frequency increases through radio frequency, microwaves, visible light and high-energy radiation such as gamma rays. A shaped dielectric can focus this energy...like the lenses on eye glasses. This does not create any appreciable propulsion. There is the disconnect between the General Theory of Relativity and Particle Physics where the wave/particle duality has yet to be explained. Einstein died trying to explain it, but there is no useful propulsion observed in either theory. For gravity waves, it is only a theory, but there is no gravity shield known, so there is no way to focus gravity on a star in front of you and block gravity from a star behind you. Even so, gravity is so weak at a distance that you would not accelerate toward a distant mass at a rate that would be more useful than peddling on a bicycle. The last problem is travelling across vast regions of space at high speed without colliding with some sort of debris and then becoming particles of space debris yourself.

The difference is that we know weather balloons, the South Pole and I exist. But we cannot say the same about UFOs flown by little green men.
It's a great book, first reading for me was when I was in my teens. Mandatory reading of it for my students in my home school.
