The excuse that “he didn’t know his mike was on” is pretty lame. Any sane person should realize there is NOTHING that is said that is “off the record.” If you don’t want something you say repeated and credited to you, then DON’T SAY IT. It’s that simple.

Obama doesn’t have to throw JJ under the bus. I heard on the news yesterday that JJ Jr., an Obama rep, dissed his dad.

What power old BHO must have to have a son go against his dad.

Obama’s White Forbearers Owned Slaves
Pandering on Parade with Clintons in Selma
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_030207/content/01125106.member.html

RUSH: Lots to do on the busy broadcast today. We find out that census records and genealogical records indicate there’s a history of slavery in Obama’s family, on his mother’s side. It’s in the Chicago Tribune. Forebears, relatives of Obama’s mother had slaves, and it’s in the Chicago Tribune. “Many people know that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s father was from Kenya and his mother from Kansas. But an intriguing sliver of his family history has received almost no attention until now: It appears that forebears of his white mother owned slaves, according to genealogical research and census records. The records, which had never been addressed publicly by the Illinois senator or his relatives, were first noted in an ancestry report compiled by William Addams Reitwiesner, who works at the Library of Congress and practices genealogy in his spare time.” That would mean it’s his hobby, for those of you in Rio Linda.

“The report, on Reitwiesner’s Web site, carries a disclaimer that it is a ‘first draft’ —one likely to be examined more closely if Obama is nominated.” Not only that, we also have found out that, “Reitwiesner’s research identifies two other presidential candidates, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and former Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.), as descendants of slave owners. Three of McCain’s great-great-grandfathers in Mississippi owned slaves, including one who owned 52 in 1860. Two ancestors of Edwards owned one slave each in Georgia in 1860,” and now we know that Al Sharpton’s relatives were owned by relatives of Strom Thurmond’s family out there. So I guess we could say that since the forebears of Obama’s mother had slaves, could we not say that if Obama wins the Democratic nomination and then wins the presidency, he will own Al Sharpton?

The real question is, when we end up having to pay reparations for slavery, where’s the money for Obama’s family going to go — to him? ...” [snip] More at link for 24/7 members

Obama Displays Maturity, Laughs Off “Barack the ‘Magic Negro’” Song
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/estack_12_13_06/BarackSection/Obama_Displays_Maturity__Laughs_Off__Barack_the__Magic_Negro___Song.member.html.html

RUSH: Paul W. Smith, frequent guest host on this program, had on his program Barack Obama — and he had to ask Barack Obama about “Barack the ‘Magic Negro.’” He did. He did! We have the audio coming. He set it up. It’s not on the little bite that we have, but he told Obama the roots of this, the LA Times article by David Ehrenstein, a black man, wrote the piece on the “magic negro” and so forth, and then he said to Obama after setting it up that way. He said, “I have to do this because Rush is on our radio station. We’re going to see him tomorrow. You’ve heard the parody song ‘Barack the “Magic Negro””?

OBAMA: (Laughing.) You know, I have not heard it but I’ve heard of it. I confess that I don’t listen to Rush on a daily basis. On the other hand, I’m not one of these people who — who takes myself so seriously that I get offended by — by every — every comment made about me. You know, the — you know, what Rush does is entertainment, and although it’s probably not something that I listen to much, I don’t —

RUSH: One other thing, for some of you Nervous Nellies out there. We’ve been talking about this Barack Obama sound bite with Paul W. Smith, and as I told you, Paul W. Smith told him before he asked the question, what he thinks of the parody “Barack the ‘Magic Negro.’” He gave him the source of it, this LA Times piece. What I think that Barack Obama knows is that the parody, for people who listen to this program in a continuous fashion, do it in a contextual way — and Obama knows this — I have railed against the liberals out there who are trying to say he’s not black enough. The LA Times has run three such pieces, two of them devoted expressly to that topic: Is Obama black enough? The UK Times did one late last week. There have been three of those, and then, of course, you had the “magic negro” story.

Barack the Magic Negro-That’s What the LA Times Called Him Listen:
http://mfile.akamai.com/5020/wma/rushlimb.download.akamai.com/5020/New/barackthemagicnegro.asx

That parody doesn’t make fun of Obama at all. The parody, all it does is make fun of the left, and that’s what all of these parodies do. That’s what everything that we do on this program does. It has an element of truth in it which makes it funny but it’s also oriented toward making a point.

We’ve always called it “illustrating absurdity by being absurd.” There’s nothing more absurd than a bunch of Democrats out there wringing their hands, liberal media types over whether or not some candidate is black enough, while they’re shouting, “Racist, racist, racist!” at every conservative they know — and it’s not conservatives talking about Barack’s skin color until they do, and then we parody it, and then they call us racists. Well, it doesn’t wash, and Obama knows it.

You have these knee-jerk liberals out there, these Nervous Nellies, that are just waiting for anything to pounce, and they do, and they get it wrong each and every time they do. So there’s nothing of substance here to criticize. You can only be critical of it if you’re panicked or if you are reactionary and don’t know what you’re talking about, which describes much of the left. ...[...]

RUSH: Well, because after Joe Biden, another Democrat, said after Obama was in the race, it’s great, we finally have a black candidate that’s “clean and articulate” running for president. The New York Post ran a story about Sharpton being a little jealous because he takes a bath every day and he was a presidential candidate and here’s Biden and these other Democrats talking about how clean and articulate Obama is, and the New York Post story said that there might be a little jealousy here. So, there’s a timeline. Everything in that parody is indeed a parody of what liberals and leftists are saying.

CALLER: Okay, well, let me tell you why I think it’s dangerous. All right? You being a white male and being a, you know, collectively the smartest, most powerful people on the planet, you’re very influential, and I’m afraid that that piece, it plays to your — some of our — your racists in your audience that need a measuring stick. So I think it’s really — it’s really dangerous.

RUSH: What’s dangerous is you characterizing members of an audience that you don’t know as “racists,” and you’re doing this, again, from a standpoint of ignorance. I’m glad you called, because I actually am glad to have the opportunity to tell you this. As I have said repeatedly, it breaks my heart to see how minorities in this country are treated by the people who claim to be their champions, because those people who claim to be their champions are the exact opposite. It is not I nor is it this audience who are racists. I didn’t come up with this whole concept of Barack and this “magic negro” thing. It is leftists in this country who are obsessed with skin color and gender and sexual orientation and grouping people into those categories and then seeing them as victims, and when you see them as victims, you don’t see their full potential. You deny it. You see people who are incompetent, and it breaks my heart. We are conservatives. We want the best for everybody. We believe that we’re human beings. I don’t look at Barack Obama and say, “Is he black enough?” Liberals write pieces about Barack Obama and ask, “Is he black enough?” on the basis of does he have roots to the civil rights protests and movement in this country.

He’s Not Black Enough Again!
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_060608/content/01125109.member.html

RUSH: Here’s a story from the Associated Press: “For young voters, Rosa Parks’ refusal to sit at the back of a bus in Montgomery, Ala., in 1955 is schoolbook history. Even the racially charged 1992 riots in Los Angeles are a distant memory. The United States is far from a blueprint for racial harmony, but for today’s young adults — all born after segregation was outlawed in the mid-1960s — race is not the issue it once was,” except for those sucked in by the race industry, I add. This is an AP story, Martha Irvine out of Chicago: “Obama’s Race as an Asset, Non-issue.”

[]”They have grown up with Oprah Winfrey and Michael Jordan among their highest-profile and wealthiest role models.” How did this story get out? Do you realize what this story is? This story says to young adults, race is no big deal in America anymore. That can’t be allowed to stand. I mean, that would put people like the Reverend Jackson and the Reverend Sharpton out of business. It might put affirmative action out of business, too, I mean if they’re looking up to heroes like Michael Jordan and Oprah Winfrey. Really, this is crazy that they let this story out. “Is it any wonder, then, that young adults have been the most willing age group to support a black man for president?” Okay, cool. Well, the key is still going to be getting them to show up to vote. I saw a picture of the Reverend Jackson earlier this week, and I think it was in St. Paul on Tuesday night where Obama delivered his acceptance speech, or his faux acceptance speech.

The Reverend Jackson was standing there holding an Obama sign. He had the most depressed look on his face. I looked at that picture, I said, “Does like this man look happy?” He can’t be happy. By the way, where has the Reverend Jackson been on television celebrating this momentous achievement? I’m telling you, the picture I saw of him, he did not look happy. He looked worse than happy. He looked depressed. He looked a little miserable standing there at some Obama rally holding his little Obama sign. I think it’s quite telling that we have not heard from the Reverend Jackson. Now, ladies and gentlemen, back to the story: “Some wonder if the welcoming attitude toward a black president has its limits, even among the most racially open young Obama supporters. Young Han, 25, said race played little role in his decision to vote for Obama in the Washington state caucuses. But he wonders if his peers would be uncomfortable if Obama were a different type of black candidate.” Now get this, folks. This is a 25-year-old Obama voter, state of Washington commenting.
He said, “’A person who talks in a black English, engages in “identity politics,” and comes out of a marching, yelling-out-of-a-megaphone background might be considered “really” black, whereas a Harvard-educated lawyer who looks non-threatening may be just a guy who happens to be black,’ says Han, a Korean-American who recently worked for a Washington, D.C., civic education foundation teaching students about government. ‘Whether this is a valid way by which to judge someone’s competence or legitimacy is whole other question. But I think that’s how things work.’” What’s he saying here? What is he saying? Wait a minute, we may not have really crossed any great threshold here because this is not your average black guy. This is a Harvard-educated lawyer who looks nonthreatening and may be just a guy who happens to be black. But, said this young man, a person who talks in a black English, engages in identity politics and comes out of a marching, yelling in a megaphone background might be considered really black. He summed up our whole parody here, just summed it up perfectly. [...] Snip-24/7 members may read the rest of it at the link above.

Obama Calls Republicans Racists
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_062308/content/01125110.member.html

RUSH: Here’s Senator Obama. This was Friday. Jacksonville, Florida, at a campaign event.

OBAMA: We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid. They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. (laughter) They’re gonna.... They’re going to say, “You know what, he’s — he’s — he’s young, inexperienced, and, uh, uh, he’s got a funny name. Did I mention he’s black? (cheers and applause) (Obama laughs) He’s got a feisty wife.

RUSH: Were you able to understand that? You weren’t? Come on, Snerdley, we added some sound effects to make it sound like the messiah was speaking, but we thought you could still hear what he was saying. You didn’t understand what he said? Well, okay, then I’ll translate it. He said, “We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid. They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. They’re going to try and say, ‘You know what? He’s young and inexperienced. He’s gotta funny name. Did I mention he’s black? He’s got a feisty wife.’” This guy, ladies and gentlemen, is diabolical. Barack Obama will do and say anything. This is a disgrace, and people should be furious with this kind of thing. It is the Democrat Party that brought up race.

All of the racism, all of the sexism, all of these things that supposedly the Republicans are guilty of and that the country is guilty of, were on full display during the Democrat primaries. Barack Obama is out there virtually ignoring the fact that it was the Clintons and any number of other Democrats who were pointing out he’s not black enough. It was Democrats and liberals who started the whole refrain, “Is he authentic?” meaning has he been down for the civil rights struggle. They are the ones! The Reverend Jackson reference by the Clintons, North Carolina. (doing Clinton impression) “Hey, of course they know he’s gonna win here. Jesse Jackson won here. He’s black!” You know Clinton was right. They played the race card on him — and, of course, the sexism and so forth.

Meanwhile, while all this has been going on, John McCain has been doing everything he can to distance himself from anything that mentioned Obama’s middle name; Obama’s race or what have you. He’s made it plain he doesn’t want to go there, and yet here is the disgraceful Barack Obama coming out, doing and saying anything, making it up. In fact, what you might even be able to conclude from this is that it is Obama who is playing the race card himself, and he’s trying to evoke sympathy. I don’t know anybody who’s talking about race when it comes to Obama on our side. Do you? Everybody on our side is scared to death to say anything about Obama! I don’t know who’s bringing this up. I don’t know anybody who’s talking about him being a Muslim. Who’s doing that? But he’s out there saying, “They’re going to call me...” Who on our side is doing that? Do you know anybody? I don’t know anybody saying that, anybody that matters.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: So Obama is out there accusing the Republicans of playing the race card. He did this in Florida on Friday. “They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. They’re going to try and say, ‘You know what? He’s young and inexperienced. He’s gotta funny name. Did I mention he’s black? He’s got a feisty wife.’” By the way, the Atlanta Urinal-Constipation Saturday — speaking of “feisty wife” — it’s a blog. “Michelle Obama has been the recipient of rougher treatment than her husband for a reason, the president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference said Saturday. One [of the Obamas] has ancestors who were slaves and the other doesn’t,” and that’s the reason, “said Charles Steele Jr., president and CEO of the decades-old, Atlanta-based civil rights group.”

[] “Barack Obama is ‘of the system. He’s going to be in the system,’ Steele told a morning gathering of the Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials. ‘Why are they attacking Michelle Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, and not really attacking, to that degree, her husband?’ Steele asked. ‘Because he has no slave blood in him. He does not have any slave blood in him, but Michelle does. ‘This system is an issue. I don’t care what you say. You can’t expect the system that enslaved you save you,’ Steele said.” This is just weird! This is just weird. “Steele admitted to the crowd that his remarks about the Obamas were intended to be provocative, but afterwards declined to expand upon them. The SCLC said his larger point was that — even should Obama win the presidency in November — the problems faced by African-Americans will still require an outside voice.”

I told you.! See? This is the bottom line. Everybody says, “Rush, you gotta understand here. If Obama wins, we have crossed the threshold. We have reached the Promised Land. We have reached the mountaintop! There will no longer be any valid charges of racism.” No way, folks. It’s going to get worse. Obama is playing the race card now saying any criticism of him is racist. Any mention of his name, any mention of his race, any mention of Michelle, it’s all racist. Now we got the Southern Christian Leadership Conference honcho saying, “Hey, nothing is changing. If Obama wins, nothing is changing here. We still need an outside voice,” because he’s not black enough. He’s not authentic.

The Southern Christian Leadership Conference’s Charles Steele, Jr., has just said — if you know how to translate this stuff like I do, because I know liberals — he’s not black enough. He is “from the system.” He is the “Magic Negro.” He is the guy. He is the one that they’ve all been waiting for, guilty white liberals, can say, “Finally I can vote for a black guy, get over the guilt I feel for slavery that I had nothing to do with!” But not so with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. These people don’t miss a trick, do they? (laughing) They don’t miss a beat! “Hey, you white people? You think Obama being elected is going to change things? You got another thing coming. (laughter) We’re still gonna need an outside voice. You’re still gonna hear from us.” (laughter) Barack doesn’t have any slave history, but Michelle does, and that’s why people are supposedly ripping Michelle.

Mr. Steele, I don’t think you understand, to the extent that people are ripping Michelle Obama, it is only after she inserted herself into all this and started claiming that she was never proud of her country until the last year or so, and then when she’s out making speeches to poor people, she’s essentially telling them to stay that way and don’t have any higher aspirations. You have to understand something, Mr. Steele. When anybody... I don’t care who it is. I don’t care what their ethnicity, what their race, what their sexual or gender orientation happens to be. When somebody enters the presidential race and starts getting involved in it from the standpoint of ideas, people are going to react to it, and if you think that you guys can get away with shutting that down simply because — well, you might be with some of the Republican Party, but other people are not going to be intimidated by this. What? Not able to criticize anybody because of their name, not able to criticize anybody because of their skin color, and yet we are playing the race card?

But all that aside, this last sentence in this story is the piece de resistance: “The SCLC said his larger point was that — even should Obama win the presidency in November — the problems faced by African-Americans will still require an outside voice,” cause Obama is not authentic. Obama is not really black. Obama does not have a slave past. He has no slavery in his bloodline. Well, you might say he’s got some Al Sharpton in him. Sharpton in the protest line, while Obama was in prep school. And naturally some of these guys feel sort of shoved out of the way by Obama. And so they’re making it plain. ..[...] Snip 24/7 members may read the rest of it at the link above.
