Prayers up for your own healing.

The article is wonderful - started crying again because we’ve lost such a godly man. Different trials by Fire have drawn me closer to God. Yet the fear that the cancer brought intensified the comfort our Lord provides. I’m so grateful for the friends who helped me find Him. Thanking God that Tony’s witness will be able to reach others through articles such as this one you posted.

I'm trying to understand how a man's death who I never met could knock me for a loop. Why?

I think it's partially because it brings back memories of my mom and her 7 year fight against breast cancer. She lost that battle in 1979 at the age of 52.

She, like Tony, never complained, could talk with anyone about anything and did NOT judge.

I also think that because he was such a good man, I fear that there are few left like him. (Of course, we have many good men here on ATRW and FR). My hubby, for one.

Bill O has excellent memories of "Snow".

Tony’s love for his family, his country and his friends is something that brings people together even in his passing. I will bet that your mother did that too. :) You would have been a different person if she hadn’t.

Lysie, I am so glad to read your statement because I have felt the same way! I burst into tears when I saw the headline Saturday and then came right to FR and saw Bahbah's thread---and cried for the next hour while I read the news and people's comments. I was sort of glad I was up early that day and the rest of my family was still asleep.

I suspect that for you bringing back the memories of your mom certainly contributes to your grief at Tony's death (and I am so sorry that you lost your mom at such a young age!). I, however, don't have that reason.

I think for me, I am so sad, first of all for the loss of this good man to his family. Imagine being loved by him and losing him---the loss would feel so immense!

Secondly, I think it is as you said---the loss for us as conservatives, and also as a nation seems so great! Tony was an incredible man--full of charm, wit, grace, faith, integrity, honor and kindness. He was incredibly articulate both in word and on paper--he was someone even people who disagreed with him loved. He had so much to offer us all and was an amazing spokesman and thinker for the right---and we have lost him. What a loss. I am so glad that I know he was a man of faith, that certainly brings great comfort.

I’m trying to figure that out too. And I may have the answer—for me.

One of my favorite verses is from Psalm 27 which begins, The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?

Tony had that light, and he couldn’t keep it hidden. It seemed everything he did was an adventure! He was gifted in so many, many ways. I think Roger Ailes was right when he said Tony was a Renaissance Man; he could do anything and he did everything well. He touched countless people in all walks of life, in many countries. He truly was a Blessing.

Tony has left this earth, but his spirit is still here and while we can no longer see that light, except for photos and videos, it left a glow in all of us.

I don’t know what I’ll miss more, that dreamy voice, his incandescent smile or that Snowflakes ping that says “Tony’s on”! I’m thinking of wearing my snowflake earrings year round!

Sorry to hear you lost your Mother so early. Wouldn’t Tony’s Mother have been so proud of her teenage son she had to leave who grew into the husband, father and man he was? I was proud of him—and he wasn’t even mine!

I still can’t believe it.

Thanks, dmd25, I’ll look at that video tomorrow. Fox News keeps playing their video of Tony’s last day where he struggled to keep from crying. I don’t ever remember seeing the corners of his mouth turned down before. When the camera focuses on the crowd of White House employees clapping for him it’s overwhelming. They obviously all loved him.

I’m sure Tony cried all the way home.

:)

If my Mother were here, she’d make me go to bed! It’s those late nights I’ve been keeping the past 2 days.

The woman with Tony in that pic is Ann Compton.

She gave him some award last October, some Freedom of speech award. That is what they are holding in the picture.

Here is a link to to what she said.
