I'd have to agree with your assessment. While many of these same people want drilling wherever, many of them cannot make or refuse to make the connection of high gas prices and the Democrats refusing to allow drilling. It's much easier to blame Bush and the "greedy" oil companies. In fact one co-worker firmly believes Bush tells the oil companies when to raise or lower prices. It's hard to combat that kind of stupidity.
"Maybe I should go cowboy. It doesn't make me look "Brokeback" does it?"
Soft words and logical persuasion work a lot better. Believe me I used to get pretty loud arguing political points, until I realized that I wasn't convincing my opponent. Much better to throw in even-voiced logic and reason while your co-workers rant and rave. If you call them stupid or scream at them, they'll dismiss your arguments out of hand just for prides sake. Talk calmly and logically, and you might persuade them.
I smell cities burning.
Prepare for the Obama Riots.
You thought the Rodney King ones were bad...
Lock & Load.
If you call them stupid or scream..............
I don’t speak to anyone that way especially people I work with.
Then I would say your co-worker is a complete idiot.
The real reason for the drop: Newsweek intentionally oversampled to get that result last month because they were trying to make news. The same thing happened 4 years ago when they tried to make America believe that Wesley Clark was the frontrunner in the Democrite race even though no one had ever heard of him (aside from being the man who almost started World War III).
