Tony was never quiet about his beliefs.

Did you see the article by Cal Thomas about Tony? He wrote it last year, I believe, and it was posted here as a tribute to Tony and his beliefs.

I think she thought he was trying to make a too partisan comment or maybe a comment that was out of place when he started to criticize the AP article which was mentioned on the thread about Tony yesterday.

In a way actually I agree with her. Yes the AP article was a knock at Tony but really Rush was on there to remember Tony and his personal remembrance of him not to make political statements that he can do on his radio show.

It somehow left a bit of nasty taste in my mouth and I felt that yesterday was not the time to make those remarks.

Greta actually IMHO handled it well she just ignored what he said and possibly cut him short but his allotted time may have been up anyway but just seemed to be cut short because she ignored what he said.

Rush FReeps, too...in fact, the other day he used FReeper material (including my post) word for word in his monologue. I was thrilled, of course.

OK. Let’s just call that a matter of opinion. Both of our opinions.

Yesterday I was sad, more than sad at the passing of one of our all time icons, Tony Snow.

Today I have decided to rejoice in the celebration of his life and what it meant to all those he touched.

Let's face it Tony was not a maudlin type of guy. He was always upbeat and positive. He would be the last one to want to see us all devastated and not to learn from what he taught, how to be an excellent human being.

I can call Combes and Bechel a lot of things, but fair and balanced just don't make the list.

I mute both as soon as they open their mouth.

Bret Bair(sp), Martha Radditz, and Mike Allen from the Politico on the FNS panel talking about how forceful Tony was in his position. He was a “happy warrior” with long press briefings.

Raddatz talks about how smart Tony was and how good he was on TV. They all agree about Tony’s optimism.

Yeah Rush was talking about the AP article.

He probably saw our complaints about it in thread yesterday.

I knew Rush lurked, but I don’t know his FReeper name, like I did with Tony, and Mark Levin.

Tony Snow (as I choke back tears)had the spirit that made and will always make America great. He was a great teacher and I learned from what he taught.

Rush made the same comments about the AP during the morning Fox broadcasts. Rush didn’t bring it up for political debate but to defend his friend.

I think many of us women feel we are in a man's world and to cry is not acceptable to us in a way a man could do it and would be heralded as a “new man” and in touch with his feelings and thought to be confident and not unsure of his masculinity. Women on the other hand would be dismissed as being emotional if they did it.

I always remember a trailer for the Apprentice when Martha Stuart was hosting it and a woman said she felt so embarrassed she could cry and Martha's retort to her was “women in business do not cry”.

There is unfortunately still a double standard here and I am certainly not a feminist in any shape or form.

I really like Bret Bauer.

He fills in for Brit sometimes and does a good job.

Bret told a story about how his son had heart surgery.
And when Bret came back to work Tony welcomed him to the press briefing and everyone clapped.

So did I she was very low keyed and not her usual bubbly self.

I know many on FR do not care much for Greta but personally I often enjoy her show unless she gets obsessed on some gory murder.
