At least it is a start. The Rats need to be pressured to stop using their lame excuses and lift the ban

While you are at it George, lift the ban on mining high grade coal in Utah.

You know, the ban that clinton imposed as quid pro quo payment for the Riadys

This is great but the skeptic in me doesn’t think that Congress will feel any more pressure to act than they already do. After all, each MOC (Member of Congress) knows that while the group’s approval rating is 9%, their own individual standing is not an issue. Therein, I think that they know that their grandstanding and obstructionism only hurts McCain and not themselves.

"Should have been done in 2001, like on Jan 23, 2001. Or even on September 12, 2001."

Bush 43 is reversing his own order which extended the ban until 2012.

This illustrates the folly of allowing yourself to be defined as a puppet of the oil companies. You would think that a former oil businessman turned president would bring more oil independence to our nation, but no, the opposite has happened.

>>>>>I agree, Bush needs to declare an economic emergency and open ANWR to oil drilling.<<<<

And a Manhattan Project for nukes, 50 in the next three years for starters. 100 more later.

By the way, all 56 French nukes were built using a single design by Westinghouse.

Time to unplug from the Middle East.

Uh being democrat uber-green these days is not popular, especially with $4 a gallon gas.

If Pelosi still goes with the uber-green stance she won't be Madam Speaker much longer.

"Green is the new Red "

Nah--Green is the OLD Red. Only the name has been changed--the people, tactics, and end goals are the same as ever---global socialism.

Congress must still lift its own legislative ban before offshore drilling can happen.

True, but it will place them in the hot seat when they're asked to explain why they won't let us drill for more oil. No one's going to be surprised to see them continue to try and deflect blame from themselves (e.g., the oil exec hearings, speculator legislation, etc.) The GOP must make some political hay from this and point out that, under Pelosi's control, gas has risen from $2.56 to $4/gallon. The GOP almost must blunt the Greenie response and point out that their position will shut down the economic system.

When oil was trading for $26 a barrel?

Do you think public would have supported it back then and helped push congress to lift their own ban to start the drilling off Florida and California?

"When did Bush find his b*lls?"

It's genetic. His dad, Bush 41 signed the original executive order.
