I too was stunned listening to Daley speak on the Heller decision. Isn't Hizzoner reputed to have a Law degree?

If so, whichever institution granted it should demand it back.

One thing that's always steamed me is that, for anyone who watches Daley speak in public, he is an absolutely atrocious speaker. And the Chicago press fawns over it, "oh it's so cute." Anything to avoid losing their places in line at the vaunted post-press conference City Hall buffet table.

Then, after stuffing themselves to the eyeballs, they waddle back to the office and write columns about how Bush (mis)pronounces the word "nuclear."

Little Dickie has a law degree because Daddy was The Man On Five. Even then, it took more than once to get him past the Bar Exam, and this being Chicago, Clout was involved. He doesn't speak well because you can't steal a good vocabulary.

It's interesting that no one who lives outside Cook County really knows that EVERYTHING in Chicago is corrupt. The schools, the PD, the lawyers, the judges, the banks, the unions, City hall, the churches.

All are interlocked in a continuous cycle of theft and bribes and pillage. And since everything is dirty, from the ward heeler on the corner to the US Senate, all the citizens believe that the rest of the World is just as bad, so why fight it?
