I still wonder how the astronauts who went to the Moon and otherwise into space are being followed for long-term physical and mental effects. It would be hard to parse out what may or may not be an effect of space travel, but I believe it still would be worthwhile to keep track and see if any phenomenon do appear connected to space travel or to being on the Moon.

Is this solely because of the let down after going to the moon? Were there other factors, such as NASA and military training, the upheaval of the sixties, or other reasons?

I was priveledged to have a personnal chat over a long breakfast with Frank Borman. He assured me that the let-down upon returning to everyday life is shear agony. After the "ultimate high", what can compete for excitement? He also stated numerous times that viewing the Earth from the moon gives one a very lonely feeling, and a deep perplexing resentment that the people of this planet cannot coexist with each other.
