i said yesterday this was coming after the apology.....hell lets just pay all american familys say 1 million each. check back in with those famlies 1 year later and see who has any left and who doesn’t and is crying for more. this country has become so unbelievable anymore it deserves to fall.
What about black families who arrived after 1865? 1965? Should they receive?

I just about agree with you. It’s become one giant redistribution of wealth scam (except for our fearless leaders, who line their own nests while doing the redistributing-their count is “one for you, two for me, one for you, three for me...with other people’s money). It won’t be long before there’s no middle class left to subsidise and support this, and then what?
Obama is screwing his chances daily. Even mentioning reparations hits so many the wrong way. He is dooming himself.
How about this deal. Say we go along with this shakedown. Make reparations a one-time payout. After you get your check, your names will be stricken forever from ALL listings of govenment handout programs such as food stamps and welfare. Secondly, you must show proof that you are a decendant of a slave. Without such proof, you don’t get a check. After that, all claims to further government assistance will no longer be recognized. You are on your own. One more proviso. You must find a job. Any job. Without a job, you don’t get a check. That should clean out the welfare rolls of a lot of driftwood. That should save a boat load of bucks in the long run.
The always-clueless Republicans let the apology for slavery & Jim Crow pass without opposition, thinking it would satisfy black activists, who would quietly go home and forget about reparations now that they’ve received an apology. The hapless Republicans were too stupid to realize that the apology was the Gulf of Tonkin resolution for reparations.
