I don’t beleive a word of this.
The FBI was driven to reduce their anthrax search to ONLY white males by their pet profiler, a woman whose name I forget (she has three names, is from Cornell U, I think). She is the same “profiler” who told them the DC snipers were two young white males, which was exactly what the FBI wanted to hear.
This woman’s idiocy was the reason a Baltimore cop who stopped Mohammed and Malvo did not pursue them more thoroughly, let them go instead, which led to another killing or two. The whole world was looking for white boys.
This woman probably got dumped by a white male early on in life and thus ended up blaming everything on white males no matter what (there, I just profiled her)—and of course that’s just what the PC crowd in the upper echelon at FBI wanted to hear. They are like Hollywood movie producers—the “bad guy” has to be a white male.
In all probability the October anthrax attack was launched by al Qaeda or jihadists, just like their accompanying note said. The fact that it was high quality anthrax from a strain once developed by the Army means nothing, because the US actually sent a similar high quality agricultural strain to Saddam in the early 1980s.
It is just shameless that they would wait for a white male associated with Army anthrax to die tragically and then pin it on him. This is disgusting.
Well, my wondering about how much people are going to cling to the idea it was AQ was answered pretty quickly.
The science of determining the exact characteristics of anthrax has advanced over the past years (and was necessary for it to move forward) and the article makes pretty clear that it was determined it had a very direct provenance to Ft. Detrick.
Of course people want it to be AQ because that’s far less scary than one seemingly-normal highly educated American (though the comments by Ivin’s brother make it clear there was clearly something going on mentally.)

On the day that Stevens DEATH was announced, Malvo did not show for school IN FLORIDA. He had just started there a few weeks before. No one knew his whereabouts for about two weeks.
Add in their "running up and down" pattern to the plot...and their connection to Jersey ....AND the fact that Mohammed had protested the anthrax vaccine while in the service...And the fact that he would know the "antidote"...And the "graphic" writing of the notes...AND THAT MOHAMMED WAS JUBILANT ABOUT 9-11...
So why become the DC Snipers?? Easy...they never got paid for their work and a HUGE diversion from the letters. Either way you cut it...they were serial killers with a plan.
