It’s poor form to post vanities as “breaking news”

How much did Obama expect to make from the sales of his books?
Did the amount exceed expectation?
If the amount was larger, then the excess should be considered “windfall” and seized from him immediately.

It's the oldest political trick. Obama has no energy plan so he passes out the cash.

Unfortunately, class warfare is equally alive in the McCain campaign which has blamed “Wall Street,” “greed,” and “obscene profits” for the current economic downturn.

o_O What with this and the race card yesterday, it seems Obama is going into meltdown.
Did the Europe trip really bomb that badly?
What I learned last time is not to pay attention to the polls after a watershed like that: pay attention to the way the candidate and his staff react.

It’s kind of like back in 2004 when everyone was saying that Kerry won the first debate, but Team Kerry was truly disappointed, considering it a loss, because they hadn’t managed to trick Bush into saying something stupid. (and they never did, even on the other two debates, and Cheney ripped both Edwards and Kerry a new one in the VP debate) Which is what made that old adage “Well hey, at least you won the debates” so hilarious.

The U.S. House of Representatives Tuesday formally apologized for the U.S. government role in slavery and the Jim Crow laws which legalized segregation for a century after the emancipation of slaves in 1865.

In addition to the apology for “the misdeeds committed against African-Americans” who were held in bondage and lived under segregation, the House also voted to end Affirmative Action policies which “treat black people as if they’re not as capable, intelligent or resourceful as those of other races.”

The legislation ends government discrimination in granting contracts to black-owned firms, as well as “the scourge of demeaning bias” in college admissions and hiring.

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus hailed the elimination of “this last vestige of institutionalized prejudice,” and announced the dissolution of the Caucus “now that Congress has fulfilled the Founders’ promise of equality of opportunity under law.”
