Only a year after banning all negative messages about homosexuality in public schools throughout the state, the California Legislature now is ordering school children to celebrate "gay" lifestyle choices.
"If signed into law, AB 2567 will mean an official day commemorating homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality in California government schools," said Randy Thomasson, president of the Campaign for Children and Families.
"This will harm children as young as kindergarten," he said. "Every May 22, AB 2567 will positively portray to children homosexual experimentation, homosexual 'marriages,' sex-change operations, and anything else that's 'in the closet.' Gov. Schwarzenegger should say no to this very inappropriate bill, which has nothing to do with academic excellences."
He said the passage by lawmakers of AB 2567 will require all California public schools to "conduct suitable commemorative exercises" in honor of the anti-religious, sexual-anarchy agenda of Milk, the late San Francisco supervisor who was a homosexual activist.
The California Assembly approved the plan 43-26 and the Senate 22-13, with both votes along party lines of Democrats supporting the homosexual agenda.
The plan comes on the heels of last year's school sexual indoctrination laws, Thomasson said. "When fully implemented, SB 777 and AB 394 will teach children in California government schools to support homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality via instructional materials, programs and activities, and school 'safety' guidelines," he said. "In addition, the California State School Board this year implemented SB 71 requiring public schools that provide sex education to promote unmarried sexual activity with no restraints other than mutual consent."

I try to see it in the way it presents itself to me. I did no delve into it in any personal way, but I do know homosexuals, and one is a dear friend. He lives in a stable and trustful relationship. Alas, the latter predicate cannot be given to many, many heterosexual relationships in our days. Given the divorce rates in the Western world, it’s pretty hard to maintain that the heterosexual bond for life works so well (although that is not the same as saying: we should not aspire to this bonding, I admit).
I wouldn’t call homosexuality ‘sordid’, or ‘a bestiality’. I try to be so modest as not qualify anything that I don’t understand myself in such negative terms.
I am religious. But that does not mean that I take the Bible literally, or as the very last word on each and any subject. Here I am firmly with the (religious) philosopher Imanuel Kant: in the last instance, your conscience must be your guide.

Pedophilia and incest are crimes (when applying to minors). Adultery is bad, but not criminal. It’s a matter of the heart; and although I condemn it and for me it’d be the cause of cessation of a friendship in theory, I can only say: it occurs, it’s bad, and well, end of story.
Homosexuality is not a crime and it happens between consenting adults. Who am I to judge it?
Sometimes, being humble and modest is the best policy.
You are allowed to do so, of course. We are lucky to live in a free world.
Would it not be better for children to learn about love for all rather than sexually specific love only?
I think a truly balanced life which can be taught during the very early years is love for others - children flourish on it and it seems a healthier adaptation rather than the singular love in choice of sexual partners.
All of us will find love of others in varying degrees - and I am not referring to sexual love - but that wonderful knowledge that you feel so deeply for another human, you are connected and wish to bring joy and happines and even share the bad times knowing you are cared about and care for another.

I wonder how many parents will keep their kids home that day? I certainly would! (But in retrospect, I guess I would never have my kids in the California public school system to begin with)
I've seen that many parents with kids in the schools, hear what is coming down. They hear what is being taught. You'd think they'd be proactive. But, IME, they become reactive when it happens to them personally. Then, I've also seen parents, who when the bad thing has happened, goes blithely along with what recommendations the educrats make for their child.
Still, it is important for parents to know in advance. Here, the gay lobby is telling parents exactly what is coming down. When parents don't object, the gay lobby interprets that as tacit approval by the parents.
Then in the classroom, and the child brings home the "literature", the parent goes ballistic. And then gets really upset that the educrats aren't taking this seriously.
Well? The parents were told in advance.
If parents in CA have kids in k-12, and they object; they should pull their children NOW, before the schools get a single dime. That's responsible parenting.
If the parents have no objection to the gay agenda in the schools, then obviously, there's no "problem."
Yes, over time, the schools will be "gay schools". Publically funded gay schools. And certainly patriots and Christians will/are screaming to beat the band.
And why should now, in re persecution, be any different than it was in Biblical times?
The schools make money sexualizing children. And they have for as long as I've been in CA.

You are correct when you say it is matter of the heart. All of these things are fruits of the same tree and are ultimately destructive.
Homosexuality WAS a crime until these people began agitating to have it overturned by sympathetic judges against the will of the majority.
Yeah its “cute” to see 2 guys playing at a relationship or 2 women for that matter. But it strikes me as watching children playing dress-up, in a lighter vein and Satanists mocking Mass with their Black Mass in a darker sense.
Personally, I don’t care if their lives are fulfilled: they lost the cosmic dice roll, for whatever reason[nature or nurture]. Should they be “punished” for it? No.
But neither should they be told they are just as normal as everyone else and their disability is certainly not a cause for “celebration”.
As for your contention of a steady 5% population, there is approximately a 2% population of schizophrenics[more or less]. I don’t recall anyone claiming we should celebrate that or call it normal. Alcoholism is a disease that affects a large swath of the population. We don’t encourage kids to drink nor to “celebrate” alcoholic families, whom we label as at best, dysfunctional.

Ultimately, statistics of monogamy, promiscuity in heterosexuals vs homosexuals are unconvincing when people will always suspect the legitimacy of the source. Until people return to a trust in the wisdom of God rather than the oft-changing "wisdom" of man, these cultural "slouches toward Gomorrah" will continue.
Forgivable true. Yet the horrendous fact is that homosexuals are at the extreme end of God’s pasture. These lost souls are profoundly HARDENED into their misguided queer identity. As they refuse to repent of their sinful nature, they seek to change the world.
