“When the history’s in, he’ll probably go down as Benedict Bush”

The war in Iraq was justified, Ron Paul lost the GOP race fair and square, and Bob Barr stands no chance. You BDSers are no different than the far-left.

There is big difference between hating America and wanting to see it destroyed, or subsumed into the North American Union or the UN (the position of the left) and wanting to preserve the USA and see her become stronger and return to her roots. (the Ron Paul position as he articulates it). I think there are reasonable arguments to be made that the net results of Bush's foreign policy, including the Iraq War, are negative for the USA. For us to do better in the future we need, as American loving conservatives, to have free and open discussions on this rather than asserting that everything Bush did was spot on and that people opposing those policies are mentally ill. (BDS).

I would say that people who say Bush brought down the towers, invaded Iraq to make Haliburton richer, is a sock puppet controlled by the Carlyle Group, etc. are really deranged.

The initial comment that Bush has put more money into defending Iraqi borders than the US ones remains un-commented upon.

When we look back from America circa 2040 what do you think will be viewed as the bigger force changing America: the defeat of the potential threat that Saddam represented or the sweeping demographic and cultural changed engendered by the Bush policy of allowing 20 to 30 million Mexicans to move here at will.

I suspect the latter will be a much bigger problem, and in fact has sown the seeds for terrible things, the likes of which we haven't seen since 1865. If in fact that comes to pass Bush may indeed be considered a very poor President for allowing things to take the turn they have.

These are all valid problems:

1) Trading the Chinese power for Walmart Spatulas.
2) Allowing fund managers priority over real workers.
3) Illegal immigration. With the word Illegal being emphasized.
4) Wondering why foreign religious states don't want the Paris Hilton , Brittany Spears westernization of their country. (we need to clean up our act)
5) Trusting and empowering of the countries whose stated agenda is still th overthrow of the US. (see #1)

All of it to me is the constant demoralization of the nation. The sacrifice of principals that made this nation great. Its hard to watch.

“the Ron Paul position as he articulates it”

This is your whitewashing of Ron Paul’s insane conspiratorial rhetoric. Ron Paul runs around spouting anti-American war-for-oil conspiracy theories, saying the U.S. forces ‘will not permit any of the three regions of Iraq to govern themselves’, while claiming that Operation Iraqi Freedom was ‘strictly motivated by a desire to exert control over the oil.’

“I think there are reasonable arguments to be made that the net results of Bush’s foreign policy, including the Iraq War, are negative for the USA. “

No, removing Saddam and replacing his terrorist regime with a democratically elected pro-western ally is not negative for the U.S. Abandoning Iraq to al-Qaeda and Iran, as Ron Paul wanted to do, would have been negative for the U.S.

“threat that Saddam represented or the sweeping demographic and cultural changed engendered by the Bush policy of allowing...”

Your interpretation of the legislation is pure fiction, and it didn’t pass anyhow. We have troops deployed in over 100 nations, but notice how the anti-war crowd pretends that the only way to close the southern boarder is by withdrawing from Iraq.
