I agree, it’s been a muddle, but that’s exactly how the liberal press and Russian apologists want you to see it. Georgia is a democracy, Russia is not. That’s pretty much what I need to know (it helps me decide whose more likely to be lying).

“A democracy” is not a good buzz word for me, though. I keep thinking of how many dictators leftists support on the grounds that he was originally “democratically elected” (they even said this about Saddam sometimes, and Yassar Arafat, and Allende, and Chavez...)
