Who won the night?

The Lord and all of us who prayed in response to Spirit of Allegience’s call for prayer.

I’m very encouraged by how well and clearly Senator McCain answered the questions. I could tweak the answers here and there, but I do that to some of my own past answers.

Sights and sounds inside the candidates’ forum

The audience inside the auditorium was respectful, if not enthusiastic, toward both candidates.

There were a few more restrained moments, however, during Obama’s interview versus McCain’s. During a commercial break, an audience member shouted an approval – “We love you, John” – that is usually a staple at Obama events.

Several hundred people watched from inside the auditorium, while thousands more viewed the forum from locations across the church’s sprawling campus

Warren wrapped up the event with a message to his detractors, who question his decision to question presidential candidates in a church.

“We have to learn … how to stop being rude, how to stop demonizing each other, how to have a discussion and a debate because we all want America to be a greater place,” Warren said.

Both candidates were quizzed for their views on same-sex marriage and abortion, Obama sidestepping when asked directly to give his view on when a baby began to enjoy human rights.

“I think that whether you’re looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity is above my pay grade,” Obama said.

McCain, who is opposed to abortion, replied bluntly to the same question. “From the moment of conception,” McCain said. “I will be a pro-life president and this presidency will have pro-life policies.”

..I'm not a McCain supporter, but IMHO he wiped the floor with marxist Obama

For many of us, the absence of discussion re the border issue was a disappointment but not a surprise...

“Who won the night?”

McCain by a mile. I can't imagine any Freeper thinking otherwise.

IMO—The so called undecideds if they are sane stable people will at least see McCain as more presidential and with much greater depth.

I think the MSM should start bringing up the Gravitas issue.

I’m watching the rerun and highlights, and I’ve got to admit, McCain seemed the most sincere that I’ve seen a candidate.

The Obamao’s spray in gray hair thing is pure nonsense.

Since you directed your question to me, I am most happy to respond. In my opinion John McCain won hands down!

I also prayed for the truth to be evident to all watching so the real character of the candidates and their views would be known. I will not be holding my nose to vote for McCain after his performance tonight! The other choice is just unthinkable for our country!

If you did not get to see the entire forum I believe it is going to be repeated tomorrow on C-Span.

McCain, hands down!

I watched Rick Warren's "interviews" with a group of old school conservatives. We all came to the same conclusion. McCain far exceeded our expectations and actually did a masterful job with his answers. His remarks were detailed and to the point.

As usual, Obama's answers were thoughtful, but on just about every issue he came across as highly liberal and extremely inexperienced.

One answer that summed up the entire night. McCain said life begins at conception. Obama said the abortion issue was "above his pay grade".

Game, set, match, McCain.
