Obama to McCain - Don't challenge my patriotism
North Denver News ^ | August 19, 2008 | VOA

Posted on 08/19/2008 4:52:10 PM PDT by Baladas

Days before Denver's Democratic Convention, Barrack Obama is standing tall and striking back.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama Tuesday urged his Republican opponent, Senator John McCain, to stop questioning his character and patriotism. Obama spoke to the same veterans group in Florida that McCain addressed the day before when he accused Obama of putting his political ambitions ahead of U.S. national interests. VOA National correspondent Jim Malone has the latest on the presidential campaign from Washington.

Senator Obama told the Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Orlando, Florida, that Afghanistan remains the central front in the war on terrorism, and that he was right to oppose the war in Iraq from the start.

Obama also challenged Senator McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, to refrain from further attacks on his patriotism.

"I have never suggested and never will that Senator McCain picks his positions on national security based on politics and personal ambition," Obama said. "I have not suggested it because I believe he genuinely wants to serve America's national interests. Now it is time for him to acknowledge that I want to do the same. Let me be clear-I will let no one question my love of this country. I love America, so do you, and so does John McCain."

Where does he think he gets off telling John McCain what to do? His patroitism, or lack of it, is fair game. Crybaby.

Guess they’re planning to save some money by re-running the “Are you questioning my patriotism” whines.

What a baby.

Obama, the America-hating, military-hating, anti-capitalist socialist HYPOCRITE. This piece of college-campus communist trash trying to pass himself off as an American patriot, is like Bill Clinton trying to convince people he is an honest man.

Obama’s idea of “patriotism” is the destruction of a Constitutional America into a socialist, monolithic-government-driven liberal dung heap. There is your “hope”, “change” and his arrogant audacity. How this imposter and charlatan has gotten this far, is a terrifying travesty upon America.....

I think there are a whole lot of voters who are very concerned about Nobama and his stance on a number of things.

I still think he is Muslim, along with a great number of charachter defects that I wouldn’t want in a local dog catcher, much less a President.

At my age—68—I have met a great number of people in my life, and I don’t know a single soul who has their “birth certificate” sealed. It is ludicrous to even think of such a thing. I even knew someone for years who it turned out was in a witness protection program. He was much more above board that Nobama has been with the voters.

I want this “Manchurian Candidate” removed from his candidacy.

He knows this muslim prayer in arabic and won't put his hand over his heart during the pledge or wear an American Flag pin.

Why would anyone question his patriotism?

ATHAN or AZAN

When John McCain was a guest at the Hanoi Hilton, B. (whose middle name must never be spoken) Obama was attending a muslim grade school in Indonesia.

As a Senator, Obama has done his absolute best to ensure failure in Iraq,,,,

with his incessant calls for withdrawal and surrender before the job is done.

Those efforts of his to demoralize the military and undermine their mission MOST CERTAINLY DOES CALL INTO QUESTION HIS PATRIOTISM!!!!

Giving 'aid and comfort' to the enemy during time of war like that has another name also,,,,traitorous.

We are electing a President, not a position paper. Any candidate’s love for and pride in America and the strength or weakness of his character will affect his performance in office and are therefor legitimate campaign issues.

“I have not suggested it because I believe he genuinely wants to serve America's national interests. Now it is time for him to acknowledge that I want to do the same”

No one should acknowledge ones so-called patriotism if the deeds don't warrant. Voting not to fund the troops is not patriotism. Hanging around characters that bombed the Pentagon is not patriotism. Sitting in the pews listening to some pastor claiming God has damned America is not patriotism. None of what Obama has done is considered patriotic and nothing he has done serves American's best interest.
John McCain is not required by any standard to vouch for Obama and if he did that would make McCain a liar. Obama is doing a fine enough job destroying any veneer of patriotism he claimed to have.

his anti-American racist mentor, spiritual advisor, close friend and ex-pastor,,,,

and his anti-American terrorist friend Bill Ayres.

Nope, no reason to question his patriotism....lol

McCain has never questioned Obama’s patriotism. At least he should cry about something real.

Pride in country is an element of patriotism. Michelle Obama said that she had only recently felt proud of the the United States. Barak Obama did not repudiate or qualify his wife’s comments, not did say that he did not share her feelings. That alone is a basis for questioning his patriotism.

“accused Obama of putting his political ambitions ahead of U.S. national interests.”

If that that is “questioning his patriotism” then I guess Obama is not patriotic. It would not be a first, for a Democrat.
