Although Cameron Strang is not going to speak at the DNC, he has re-registered as an Independent instead of a Republican.

It appears the Left is gaining control of more and more young Christians with soothing messages of "compassion, social justice and environmental stewardship." I also fear this movement which allows people to shape their faith and beliefs to fit their own "values."

Values are negotiable. Virtues are not.

defending innocent lives lost to pre-emptive war

There's the sentence that explains everything.

What about infanticide is there to not understand? Either you’re pro-life or you’re not.

This isn’t an issue that can be nuanced.

The article link is at the top of the column on the right, across from the “page not found” error message. At least that’s how it’s appearing to me on my Safari browser. I tried to post the link from the actual article page, but for some reason it keeps going to the “page not found” message.

If this is the way things are going, the Left is going to win this battle. The Liberal message to young Christians is simple:

“If it feels good, do it...and still go to heaven.”

You describe the “emerging church” movement.

These folks are peddling a PERVERSION of Christianity. They are espousing that many of the core essentials of Christianity (Christ’s virgin birth, divinity, death & resurrection) are not as important as “how you live your life” - ie, works-based salvation.

This is totally the OPPOSITE of Christian teaching.
Nothing we do is “good enough” to make up for sin and Christ alone is the gift of salvation, free for the taking.

I attempted to post a rather forceful reply on his blog...I doubt if it will make to post.

As a Southern Baptist in his 40’s, the product of a small-town church, I find this frightening.

The Democrats and the Left don’t want anything from these young people but their votes.

Strang’s $500 abortion vs. $25,000 adoption factoid is quite compelling, but perhaps he ought to pay less attention to “cool” gestures on the part of Democrat party hacks and more on the the political factors that make abortions so cheap and adoptions so expensive: the law, the legal profession, international politics, and the non-profit organizations that have their priorities all wrong. And why should christianity embrace celebrity culture? Does Britany Spears and other “creative minds” (sarcasm) care about your average believer?

I don’t know about that...my stepdaughter is a young Christian and when I’m in town I go to her Church, and the young pastor’s message is not that...it’s vthe alues based, old-fashioned, biblical messages. The same thing goes for the church I belong to as well...I think that this guy is going down that wrong road of good intentions...speak the message to as many as possible..Unfortunately, when that happens, usually the message gets watered down. We’ll see.

"Values are negotiable. Virtues are not."

Well, since Obama has supported infanticide after a live little baby was born, there is his blatant belief system exposed. All religious groups have known this point for over a week. The only question for the various people is do they support infanticide or find something else more important to themselves selfishly.

But God will win the war. :)

I just hope the Left doesn’t take too many young souls to Hell with it.

It’s the same kind of infiltration they practiced on academia and the media, in order to destroy from within. They’ve already subverted the Christian calling from spreading the Gospel of Christ, repentance, and salvation, to this “social justice” agenda, environmentalism, etc. They’re preparing the church for its eventual integration into the one world government. All the consensus-building, “purpose-driven” agendas have been about just that.

If more conservative Christians vote in the Democrat primaries, fewer communists would be getting on the Democrat ballots.

The political football has moved Left as the old Left have become RINO Republicans and the New Left radicals have taken over the DNC.

We need to be pushing BACK on both major parties, not surrendering the primaries and hoping to remain a sizeable block of a GOP that courts the conservative voters but does not seem to share their principles.

Saul Alinsky the premier “Community Activist” aka Communist troublemaker, and Obama’s and Hillary’s mentor.

“The documentary, “The Democratic Promise: Saul Alinsky and His Legacy,”[1] claims that “Alinsky championed new ways to organize the poor and powerless that created a backyard revolution in cities across America.”

In his Rules for Radicals, Alinsky outlines his strategy in organizing, writing,

“There’s another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevsky said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution. To bring on this reformation requires that the organizer work inside the system, among not only the middle class but the 40 per cent of American families - more than seventy million people - whose income range from $5,000 to $10,000 a year [in 1971]. They cannot be dismissed by labeling them blue collar or hard hat. They will not continue to be relatively passive and slightly challenging. If we fail to communicate with them, if we don’t encourage them to form alliances with us, they will move to the right. Maybe they will anyway, but let’s not let it happen by default..”
