Kwame Kilpatrick's Detroit came in a close second place behind "Chocolate City."

New Orleans and Mobile...neighboring (basically) cities hit by the same hurricane.
One recovered immediately, even though it’s 4 feet below sea level. The other still cries out for welfare aid.
Single Party Rule (DEMOCRAT) in Both Cities, is the main reason these Cities are in such bad shape.
Liberal BLIGHT is an Excellent term. Somehow, must get it added to the Conservative Lexicon.

I could go on and on but there are plenty of very very liberal areas that do very well economically because they lack the issue that is THE ISSUE in Detroit and New Orleans.

Good point about Mobile, Alabama suffering bad damage from Katrina. But we heard little about damage elsewhere from Katrina; the focus was on New Orleans.
In fact, weren’t numerous towns in Mississippi flattened by Katrina? I wonder how they are recovering. There too, we heard very little about the damage on the Mississippi Gulf coast region.

Well, Detroit’s population is mostly black, and has been for years. However, they have also had a black mayor, and have for years. If you have a largely black population governed by mostly black mayors and city councils, isn’t it evident that the problems are not due to racism?
Until the problems can be discussed by people who are actually capable of correcting them, the problems will continue to worsen. In other words, the federal government will continue to throw good money after bad in these hellholes, another generation will be lost, and there will be more and more cities where nobody will want to travel.
The least he could do if he was going to dress up like a 4 star general, is to make sure he was wearing his beret and uniform right.
We see places like SF and LA where people are murdered because of the policies of liberal mayors and city councils.
It all depends on how one defines blight. You appear to drill down to the financial aspect of it. Blight means rotten...and rampant poverty might be a party of that, but I submit that even some of those areas you listed suffer from other sorts of rot. Having grown up in CA I am familiar with Marin county, and even 30 years ago it seemed to suffer from elitist boards developing unrestrained rules.
No doubt conservatism would help but most ain't listening.
I don't blame racism...most racism today comes from their direction not the other way around, that was 40 years ago.
Folks can't say it's all liberal policies either, blacks have free will same as anyone else to succeed and be responsible or not.
They are no more prisoners of politics than any other race or ethnicity unless they allow themselves to be.

Blacks fix what's eating their culture and the destructive politics they've embraced for too long will lose it's allure. It's like free your mind and yer ass will follow.

Thanks. It came to me when I was pondering the results of unrestrained programs that are never reviewed to measure their success or to be improved. The only liberal solution is to throw more money at a program, regardless of rather it works or not. And no programs are ever examined to see if they fill any current need. I'm thinking that there are several areas of effect of liberal blight...social, legislative and economic being the primary areas in my mind with the primary "tool" implementing the blight being various programs. And often these programs claim a high minded intention but rarely approach the problem with a viable methodology.
To try to blame politics when large groups in our culture behave poorly is silly and makes it sounds like these groups are incapable unless they have the right politics (granted by whites of course)
Blacks and some latinos have horrible crime rates and declining culture (exceptions yes) and that impacts these stats we always see but they have to change themselves. If they do, then their politics will probably change with them.
I don't think we can change them....it actually seems racist to me to assume that and I hate that overused charge.
There are ills in our culture beyond politics but there is no doubt liberalism is like gasoline to the fire and that conservatism can help, that I agree with.
I’m talking about policies which allow illegals out of jail and they kill people. These cities run by liberals are enacting policies that make the officials culpable for murder.
This story is from New York but considering the rampant gang 'culture' that's so much a part of history with areas of Nawlins, it may well be happening there as well.
