Sorry for the Vanity but I have a great concern.
It's been a good summer for McCain. The ads are good, the American public is starting to learn more about the "real" B. Hussein Obama and he's dropping in the polls. That's the good news.
I think that on a level playing field, Mac can beat B. Hussein. But, has anyone thought about the strategy of the scheme to text Obama supporters and notify them of the VEEP selection. He now has hundreds of thousands of cell phone numbers. Visualize, on Election Day, a gazillion Text Messages going out over America: "Don't forget to vote today and take a friend". That's quite a data base.
Need some input and help from some of you high-tech FReepers: How can the Mac Campaign offset that advantage?
That’s easy:
Upload the announcement to YouTube.
I suspect many people who gave their info are going to feel pretty upset that they didn’t hear it first as promised, and the text that goes to them right before the election may remind them of feeling cheated.
Good point. I hope you have some success with this post.
I’m no technical person so I’m going to bed, and check back on this in the morning.
I am not worried about it. Maybe I should be, but I’m not.
We wont need to offset anything with Obama been Biden there
I’d like to see him climb one of those red rock buttes in Sedona and send up smoke signals. Lots of smoke signals. Wouldn’t that be like poking the environmentalists in the eye with a sharp stick. Besides, the “media” would eat it up.
You’re right about the database, it is an advantage.
But the choice wasn’t released via text, it was released the same old dull way as always- leaked to establishment media.
Yawn.
Anyone who was enough of a dickhead to give tem their cell number was voting Obama already, anyway. Alternatively they will be in starbucks when the GOTV message come sin and will elect for another latte.
Not to worry!
The messiah’s bambi team just shot their wad without using the so called text “advantage!”
BWAAA HAAA HAA HA!
The way the Obama camp handled this, the text message will go out the day AFTER the election! :)
Easy.
Just make the announcement the old-fashioned way, with no prolongled hoopla, no breathless hype, and no silly gimmicks (ie., "texting"). Just come out of the blue with a quickly-called press conference and make the announcement, short and sweet. McCain should do this within the next 48 hours.
Bang! McCain completely outclasses Obama without breaking a sweat.
....Of course, McCain better make a good selection.
Including about 3,000 fake names, addresses and cell numbers generated by me yesterday. It took my script about 10 hours to run, but it succeeded.
We don’t need no stinking technology advantage. Only a dem could be stupid enough to forget to vote on Election Day and most of the tech savvy texters will resent paying for an incoming text “reminding” them. They’ve already found they got no jump on the vp announcement since TV had the Biden announcement simultaneously. They are so P.O.’d that its Biden they’ve smashed their phones anyway. This was not the ‘bump’ Obama was looking for. He just threw “Change” under the bus.
Hmmmmmm....uh......O.K.......FlingWingFlyer, it’s late; go to bed and sleep it off.
LOL! Well. I tried. It’s been a long and freaky election season.
Win over the Ron Paul supporters.
I agree with you but I was thinking about the advantage B. Hussein will have by keeping in touch with these young, lame-brains who have the IQ of a can of Spam, and making them feel important and like he really cares; especially on Election Day when the text messages go out. “Get off your butt an go vote you dumb-ass, Kool-aid drinkin’ little twit”.
BTW, Mac is announcing his VEEP on August 29th, the day after B. Hussein makes his speech in the Bronco’s Stadium. (I’d love to see a young monsoon outpouring). This is designed to cut into the post-convention bump and IMMEDIATELY switch all the attention from B. Hussein’s Campaign to McCain.
