Do you notice a lot of Mexican alcohol and tobacco cartels moving alcohol and tobacco across the border?
Are gangs on street corners selling alcohol?
Why was prohibition ended?
How did our country survive over 100 years with no drug laws?

The only alternative is to resurrect Gen. Pershing, I fear. Actually, I think sending in General Winfield Scott, and a few of his good young West Pointers, a certain Captain Robert E. Lee, Lieutenant U.S. Grant, Joe Johnson, Stonewall Jackson, etc., who kicked down the gates of Mexico City and beat Santanna's ass. They went all the way to Mexico City. I'd rather have them.

I get periodic reports from a group of retired border agents. Today they sent this about this article, which was being given to law enforcement offices.
OFFICER SAFETY WARNING issued by border agencies on item below. But please remember how resourceful these cartels are; subs, planes, boats, phony documents. They can turn up anywhere in the US in a few hours & hook up with those already in place. Take NO call as routine."

I could be for legalizing all drugs, once the welfare state would not fund drugs, not insure users or victims, not provide rehab, consider all crimes done under drug influence as “premeditated,” and allow citizens to kill such a user once such persons wandered onto their property in self-defense.
To: ConservativeMind
I would support the drug war, provided it were put to a consensus vote on a national ballot. And provided all of those voting to keep the failed drug war in place gave a billing address so that they could pay for it. I think those who want to keep this failed policy in place should be the ones paying for it, not me.
Oh, and also they would have to restore the Bill of Rights and revoke forfeiture laws.

I think at this point they are so organized that they will find some other bad thing to get their hands into. In fact, I suspect they are already into other things. Human trafficking for instance. But then again, if we just open the borders there will be no profit in that either....

I don’t abstain from drugs because they are illegal and I wouldn’t became an addict just because they were made legal.
Some can’t grasp this.

What drug war are you referring to?
When the US fights the WOD like we do the WOT, then we will see drastic reductions in illegal drug activities.
All we are doing now is playing Mickey Mouse games with drug smugglers and/or illegal immigrants.
I say: Send armed troops to our borders and to our neighbors to the south.
To: mysterio
Do you notice a lot of Mexican alcohol and tobacco cartels moving alcohol and tobacco across the border?
Actually, they don't need to bring tobacco across the border. They bring it up from the southern states into the northeast where they can make good money on it. They do sell it on the street corners and will kill each other for territory. However, the gangs are Dominican and make the Mexicans look like altar boys by comparison.

I believe a very critical part of the war on terror should be agressively protecting our borders.
Until that happens, IMOHO, our so called “War on Terror” is nothing but a farce and they are doing a half-a&&ed job and giving us lip service.

Drug cartels give permission to who, exactly, and under what authority?
I think the press is trying to make them sound like al Quaeda in their organization and goals.
