McCain needs a great VP so they can say “We are the adults”.

That would be the perfect antithesis to Invesco. Imagine McCain saying "THIS is America, and I look forward to being your next President."

You know, the more I hear about B. Hussein Obama, the convention appearance, gaffes, and idea for solving real problems; the more I think of him as being Homer Simpsonesque.
What would Homer Simpson do if he were running for President? Why he’d give a big speech on the 50 yard line of the Springfield football stadium, with a stage that looks like the Parthenon. Talk about the 57 United States and inflating tires to save the planet.
I set myself in agreement with that prayer.
And I thought nothing could top John Kerry in that blue worm tube outfit and his “huntin’ outfit and his sailing outfit and his biking outfit........

I wouldn’t count on it. He’s a terrific speaker. It’s an entirely scripted, teleprompted, non-spontaneous event. It’s where he does best. I suspect he will give a great speech.
I see everyone chortling over the train wreck coming. But don’t forget, the enemy adapts.
The whole “greek temple” narrative has been good though. A lot of folks will watch the event expecting to see one and that’s exactly what they’ll see. So that’s a little victory.

An article (and FR topic) a day or two ago said Jon Bon Jovi would perform before Obama’s speech, and Bruce Springsteen after. But a report today said that Springsteen would not be there, so it’s not certain.

The thing that really isn’t going to sit right with Obama’s celebrity event tomorrow night is here is a guy who is tied in the polls at best who is acting like a superstar in his own manufactured events.
Obama is no more popular than McCain, in fact, his favorability ratings are lower. So why he frontin’?
“He needs to climb on the roof and yell “I am a golden god” and leap into a swimming pool like in “Almost Famous”.”
Or, insist that we worship his horse. OK, he’s never ridden a horse. So we have to worship his cat.
