Secret Service Denies Romney Security Sweep
Roll Call ^ | August 28, 2008, 4:07 p.m. | By David M. Drucker

Posted on 08/28/2008 4:31:51 PM PDT by Perdogg

The Secret Service is denying that it conducted a security sweep of the Michigan home belonging to the sister of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R).

Roll Call earlier reported that the sweep took place, suggesting that it might be an indication that Romney was in line to be selected as Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) vice presidential running mate.

So is Romney. His record speaks much louder than his forked tongue.

Intrade is now strongly suggesting it will be Pawlenty.

Let’s hope its Mitt. That sets him up for 2012.

Oh, good, let's have four years of Obama just so that Mitt can 'save' us with his RomneyCare. Perhaps in the mean time he'll officiate at a couple gay marriages for outreach purposes.

I am actually beginning to think Mac has got some sense and he knows Romney won’t help him.

My sense of dread is lessening.

According to "Drew" on this site, his inside info at the RNC says it will be a woman. Hope it's not Meg:

thanks for the common sense

Common sense seems to be the first casualty of political debates around here. It seems as though the fight gets taken straight to the ground, bare knuckles, barroom style. Every person on our potential VP list has a lot more values in common with me than Joe Biden or Barack Obama. I will leave the trashing of our candidates to the pinkos.

I seriously wouldn’t doubt it... I think we might have to give her a little thanks (just a TINY bit though) after McCain beats Obama... WHY? Because I’m almost POSITIVE the Clintons will be working “alongside” the Republicans from here on out - no matter what they might be saying - so that Hillary gets another chance in 2012.

Not Guilty

The "Warrior and the Woman" can Win BIG
taking a very large fraction of the pro-Hillary frustrated Democrat women
crossover in each of the 50 [--not 57 Obama--] states.
The election is Sen. McCain's to LOSE ONLY IF he takes RINO-Chameleon Romney.

I know this is all probably just wishful thinking - but wouldn’t it be STUNNING if McCain picked Thompson, or Hunter??? Can you just imagine the momentum from the conservative base, then? Plus, since their names haven’t been floated the Dems would be caught TOTALLY off-guard! It would be wonderful! But, yes, I know... It’s all wishful thinking...

Mitt Romney would be a fine candidate.

You can sit there all you want and pontificate about how he is a poser. How he is this liberal liar who is saying the opposite of what he truly stands for. You can cut him down and say all sorts of crap about him if you like. But all you are accomplishing is making a bunch of fellow conservatives look at you with thoughts that range from “good grief, what a bore” or “what a bitter person”. In other words, you won’t change a single person’s mind and only serve to make yourself look little.

We are in the battle for our nation’s life. Mitt is not perfect, but he is a heck of a lot better than the opposition. He says a lot of good things and your answer to that is essentially “we don’t believe him.” Well, so be it. Don’t believe him.

As for me and a lot of folks like me, I believe in allowing a person who was wrong to change his mind and be right. I don’t forever condemn people because of past wrong opinions. I allow someone to come to my side and so should you. Otherwise, the Republican party will never grow to be anything other than an exclusive club of bitter folks that don’t let humans correct the errors of their ways.

Its good news for Romney so he doesn’t set sail on the S.S. McAmnesty. Romney was one of the few republican candidates who laid it on the line and denounce the open borders stupidity perpetrated by the federal and state governments. So Mitt there are greener pastures for ye despite all the acrimony from the haters. Go talk to Reagan’s ghost and he’ll tell you the same. “No good liberal from California, can’t be trusted........”

Ugg, I wish McCain had the moxy to pick Palin.

It would lock up the Mtn swing states and enough Clinton supporters in swing states to balance the election to McCain.

Pawlenty...eh ho hum...total milquetoast, which shouldn’t surprise me...I’ll vote.

But mark my words, conservatives upon seeng his record aren’t going to be activated. They’ll vote, but they won’t volunteer.
