Susan must be referring to Walter Mondale back in 1984 here. Let me refresh her memory: with a woman on his ticket, Mondale couldn't win anything but his own state and the District of Columbia, not even the wimmin of Ferraro's NY would vote for that ticket. Ronald Reagan won a near-unanimous electoral vote that year, which only goes to show that while some Dem wimmin will compromise their ideology, principles (according to the polls and comments I've seen all over the networks) and vote for a presidential ticket simply because *a sister* is on it, GOP women will not.
