Rasmussen: Obama 51 - McCain 45 (from 49-46 yesterday)
Rasmussen ^ | 09/02/2008 | Rasmussen

Posted on 09/02/2008 6:40:33 AM PDT by ubaldus

Obama is up by 6 in today's Rasmussen tracker, by 5 without leaners (48 - 43). It is obviuos that McCain had a very bad polling day yesterday, something like 42-53 daily sample or even worse.

Some of it may be statistical noise, but it appears that all the noise around Palin selection is starting to hurt.

By your lights, the only Christian family is well scrubbed, spotless and sinless! It makes a mockery of Christian doctrine but that's a matter worth discussing on another day. If no one sinned, there would be no hypocrisy in the world. The Left after all, are exactly the people who should welcome that kind of behavior instead of acting all indignant about it!

IMO, you original post about the DUI was a good thing, because it alerted us to the deceptive headline about a "recent" DUI.

Don't waste any more time explaining or apologizing to people who cannot be bothered to read the many posts in which you explained the deception.

This pick is designed to win over independent females and hopefully some PUMAs.

I thought McCain was giving his base what they asked for -- a conservative. And one who doesn't spend a lot of money.

Just shorten your statement to:

“What do you think the polling numbers would be if the MSM did its daXX job”.

Because that is the point. While they were scrambling to try to prove that Governor Palin’s last child was really her daughters (a complete fabrication to slander the family), they could have been doing some REAL journalism and looking for the truth. But they chose not to.

Obama has direct terrorist ties - and not a peep.

The Governor’s teen daughter is pregnant and the presses are practical on fire to blow it up.

I am afraid that McCain is going to need a LOT more than his CFR-restricted $84 million, just to counter the invaluable free campaigning 24/7 by the MSM for Obama.

The DUI was in 1986 - 22 years ago!

And he’s not pushing 50, he’s 43!

But I do agree about the pregnancy and its affect on the campaign (I’m in the .000000001% of conservatives who feels this way, BTW).

While I’m certainly thrilled that Bristol chose not to abort her child, it is amazing that the entire religious right is simply celebrating this pregnancy, without even mentioning that the girl and her mate DID violate God’s laws regarding fornication.

True, we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. But for the Palins to issue a statement as to how proud they are of the daughter, without even mentioning that her actions go against her Christian faith, leaves the door wide open for OTHERS throughout the world to act in a similar manner. Believe it or not, many “Christians” do NOT know that fornication is wrong, and for these people, who are now in the public purview, to not even make mention of this fact sets a poor example for teens everywhere!

Further, the Palins are very accepting of what happened and seem well able, emotionally and financially, to accept this arrangement into their family. Good for them. But what about the millions of teens who do NOT have supportive families and economic conditions conducive to raising a child? They will be in for a real shock if they find themselves in similar circumstances.

Those Christians need to realize we live in a Constitutional Republic.. We are electing people to lead this country .. We are not electing preachers in chief..

Role reversal (Mr. Mom) and the unwed pregnancy is NOT a conservative posture nor does it play well with conservative Christians ... .

Well, maybe not in your knitting circle, but most Americans don't judge this stuff very harshly, since almost every family has had these situations come up at some point.

McCain should be worry about getting the blue collar white vote in the swing states/battleground states. That’s what it comes down to for both canidates. There are not enough independant female voters in each state to make a difference. Palin will help with those white blue collar union type voters IF they allow her to focus on that..she’s very much relatable in that sense. They need to drop all this “thank you, Hillary” glass ceiling talk.
Forget it.

And then you have the extreme hysterical types like yourself that try to justify their position.

No one is without sin however there's no way in hell we want our daughter pregnant nor will mother be the male and make the living. We have stressed that it is an honorable role to have children, no abortion and to make children the priority - that is perfectly in line with Biblical principles. With Mom around and paying attention we don't expect to have these problems or role confusion.

It is the LEFT that advocates Mom leaving kids to make money and Dad being irrelevant. See the shift by the GOP?

Don't worry, I fear Obama MORE and will vote for McCain but we will NOT look to Sarah as a role model.

Well - the polls demonstrated their “reliability” in their accuracy in the primaries... and in the last two POTUS general elections to boot...

Yes:

“It makes a mockery of Christian doctrine but that's a matter worth discussing on another day. “

What YOU advocate does make a “mockery” of Biblical Christian principle.

But now I read in the local newspaper today (Tuesday) that Sarah's husband Todd recently had a DUI.

From all the sources I can find - the DUI was in 1986...22 years ago. If that is recent...

Kerry leads Bush in new poll
But most voters think president will be re-elected

Tuesday, April 27, 2004 Posted: 12:40 PM EDT (1640 GMT)

(CNN) — Presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. John Kerry leads President Bush in the latest CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll, although the race appears to be fluid and remains close.

The poll, released Monday, found that among likely voters, ***Kerry was the choice of 52 percent*** and Bush 44 percent in a two-way matchup, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

I went on record three weeks ago. I think this election is gonna be a ROUT in McCains favor. And his selection of Palin confirmed that for me.

I have read way more than I should have spent time doing regarding the “controversies” coming out against Palin. They are empty and as vetted will become obviously so to anyone who is exposed to news outside the MSM. Our job is to report it to others, as we did with the Swiftboat vets and Rathergate. This will go the same way.

Thanks to his selection of Palin, I have not been pumped up this much for an election since 1980.

And I was not gonna vote this time.

Obama’s tax plan is so radical-28% tax on selling your home

Please show your source. While this would be pretty typical for a super-liberal like Obama, the data I have seen would maintain the $500K threshold for the capital gains tax on selling a home. Anything under $500K would not be subject to the tax.

Unless you know something that I cannot dig up... if so, please share so we can all use it.

"Why the hell was Todd Palin drinking and driving, (if that is true)."

Not excusing any DUI but the only one we've heard of for Todd Palin was in 1986, before they were even married, and 4 years before they had their first child. I don't know what you saw but it may be the reporter (so-called) was trying to make it seem recent, because these MSM and Demagogue scumbags are desperately trying to force Governor Palin off the ticket or at least to so damage her that the ticket is weakened. They are SCUM.

Agreed. But, on the other hand, this is all people are talking about and is sucking the oxygen out of the air. None of this helps McCain. The attention should be on him and not Sara. The media are going to dig and any minor news items will be blown sky high by the MSM.

Despite all the sound and fury on the internet about the disaffected Pubbie base, polling has been showing for awhile now that the Pubbie base was already solidly behind McCain and consolidating more and more as new revelations about Obama came out. McCain was pulling a larger share of Republicans (well into the 80 percents) than Obama was of Democrats (less than 75%) the entire election season until the Dem convention. This pick is getting McCain more money and may get him more volunteers, but it won’t get him significantly more votes unless Palin can appeal to female independents and PUMAs.
