Appearing on Tuesday's "Today" show, Republican strategist Mary Matalin slammed the media for its "hair-on-fire" coverage of Sarah Palin's selection as the Republican vice presidential nominee of John McCain. In particular, she corrected a previous segment by David Gregory which asserted that the Alaska governor had hired an attorney to defend herself against an ethics probe into possible attempts to dismiss a state trooper.
Matalin asserted to host Matt Lauer that it wasn't true "that she's hired a lawyer to deal with this trooper issue. The attorney general, state attorney general hired the lawyer." She forcefully added, "That's what they do for the governor. She's an open book on this thing. The press is reacting to these things in sort of a hair-on-fire way because she's new." In his report, Gregory had incorrectly asserted, that Palin "revealed" she had hired the lawyer.

It is a serious potential security risk. Not to mention a security risk to the entire population that this bad cop is suppose to protect. No one can justify leaving a loose cannon on the police force, with a badge, a gun or two, and tasers.

I think you’re right, the absolute media frenzy is affecting lazy voters who don’t follow politics, but they haven’t realized it’s only about the Governor’s daughter having a baby. People don’t like to be fooled, and too many people know of someone in the same situation.
I understand he "bumped into her" while looking for the keys to his patrol car that she had hidden. Hmmm, why would she hide his keys?

The dirty ba$tard got a ten day suspension for threatening to kill her father. That suspension was reduced to just five days.

I understand the Dems having talking points, but couldn’t they audition who will read them. I just left an appt where Headline News was on and taking a poll about how this news would impact their vote. I have never heard so many stated “life long Republicans” changing party—if they all had been Republicans Bush would have carried 95% of the votes. And most were obviously reading a script and sadly not doing so well. Apparently the public school system failed many!
I can’t comprehend it either. Carville’s attack on Gov. Palin has been particularly vicious. He’s been on CNN holding up a picture of the Mayor’s office where Palin served mocking how small and insignificant it is.
They say the eyes of love are blind, and in this case I would say the eyes have been blinded and completely removed from the body. I’ll probably never understand the attraction between those two COMPLETELY different people.
