I take issue with any use of it that dishonors and minimizes it, including the morbid glibness of our fellow FReepers poster, that’s all. Didn’t lose anybody that day but I came close. Maybe I’m being too sensitive.
I think the morbid lack of respect came from Olberman, and that the FReeper was entirely justified in satirizing Olberman's exploitative commentary. Newsmen are supposed to report facts, not continuously monitor the responses of viewers. He was blatantly inappropriate and self-inflated to use his position as a newscaster to comment editorially on the convention.
