Yes, not just defeating Nobama, but making a strong case for their vision & no pandering, I agree. But they have to make their economic case to the increasingly disaffected Dems, et al: lower taxes, energy plan, government that is accountable, etc.

What a grand example this was of the “Law of unintended consequences”

Let's hope the left-media continue to throw those sort of boomerangs.

It's about time that side paid for its very real destruction of good Americans, simply because they happen to be Republicans.

the MSM, by propping Nobama up, unexamined early on, did him no real favors.

Ain't that the truth!

But it's worse than that. The entire liberal Democrat establishment did the SAME thing, which easily trickled down to the lemming-like Democrat voters, who in turn, did NO personal vetting of this candidate.

Not only has Obama now been exposed for the empty vessel that he is, but the ENTIRE left-liberal Democrat universe has been exposed as pawns and useful idiots.

This one fact is something I wrote about in a vanity from yesterday. From about two minutes into Sarah Palin's acceptance speech, and into that night, there was a revelation of historic proportions occurring.

With one deft stroke, Sarah Palin ripped the facade right off the whole liberal Democrat establishment and revealed them for what they are. It was perhaps one of the most breathtaking moments in history, in my view, and that revelation will continue to reverberate throughout the world.

Sarah Palin's message of common sense conservatism was a brilliant light, which illuminated the gross underbelly of liberalism and exposed it for the lie that it is.

And thanks to the MSM's vile attacks on her during the week preceding the convention, millions of liberals and Democrats tuned in to hear that truth.

People are now referring to Gov. Palin as "Hurricane Sarah" and so forth, but in my estimation, she's something more akin to a world changing tectonic shift.

There's a lot to what you write. I think the opportunity for a huge shift is there. She's certainly an excellent messenger as far as we can tell, with both style AND substance: rare indeed!. BUT the other part of the equation is a receptive audience.

WE're on board...time will tell about enough of the "mushy middle" . We can forget the die-hard Left, but those who've been swayed too long...we'll see.

I have particular hopes for my children's generation: the young people starting out in the work world, paying taxes, and worried about their young families...

Yes, and both Viacom/BET and SeeBS are controlled by Sumner Redstone/National Amusements. All part and parcel of the same left-leaning conglomerate.

Those are exactly the folks who elect presidents. And my gut instinct tells me that they were as impressed with Palin and McCain as we were.

My bet is that a very good portion of them have shifted right.
