Sarah Palin will be missing from action Sunday a.m.

Today, top McCain aide Rick Davis indicated the campaign isn't in any hurry to slot Palin for a Sunday show appearance -- and will do so only if he and other strategists determine it serves the ticket's purposes, not because some may view it as a required initiation for a major political player.

Appearing on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" show, Davis said, "I'd never commit to anything in the future. ... Our strategy is in our hands, not the media's. We're going to do what's in our best interests to try to win the election. If we think going on TV news shows are [sic] in our best interests, we'll do it. If we don't, we won't."

I like Jim Treacher’s response to why she won’t talk to the press-because they haven’t earned it yet!

Exactly. If the past few days hadn’t been the Brstol Palin is Pregnant And We Think Her Mom is White Trash show, they might get an interview or two.

“..since the media has been so nice to Palin and McCain...”

And that is what is at work here, the Davis just semi quitely told the media to go screw themselves until they behave and drop the slime.

Notice Davis said this on Morning Joe, not made the rounds of Talk Shows saying the same thing, the staffs at those shows are (IMO) working the back channel and..”negotiating”...

Palin will make the rounds, but if you can squeeze two weeks of fair coverage by playing hardball, why wouldn’t you?

Smart play IMO.

That he’s probably not in church very often?

Or he goes to early or late services?

"They had their chance to be fair; they blew it."

You can say that AGAIN......why REWARD the media for their BAD BEHAVIOR!

I supported the selection of Palin, in fact I was an early advocate, however, I hope that the McCain campaign does not make the same mistake as the Bush-41 campaign made in trying to micromanage Quayle. She’s a big girl and I think she can handle the likes of Little Dick Gregory and George Stephanopoulos.

Sooner or latter, the emotions behind Palinpalooza is going to wear off and she is going to have to face the gauntlet, which I think she can do with grace and show people that she is really capable.

I have faith in her, that’s why I supported her selection form the beginning.

She’s her own person and I’m confident she can hamdle herself. She won’t robotically be like Biden and by simply sticking to her convictions and who she is, she’ll destroy the drive-bys and Biden.

For that matter Obama.

The media is trying to insinuate no one can be a candidate for office in Washington unless they approve and vet them. Hopefully the McCain campaign will stick to their guns on this one.

Imagine one of the biggest stories in the world right now and the MSM can't even talk to her. LOL

The Brits seem to love her. Maybe they should let them interview her first. And I have said Megan on Fox has really stood for her so eventually she should get an interview. Absolutely no BOR ever.

From the article you linked:

If they dug into Obama's connections to black separatists and domestic terrorists and other hope-and-change advocates as thoroughly as they're digging into Palin's PTA records and pizza delivery receipts, we might have a whole different election.

Now that's worth repeating !!!!

After the way the media has treated her, why should they be rewarded with her presence?

There needs to be wholesale firings in the MSM by the owners over the bias and outright partisanship. There is no sense of balance and fairness at all. They might as well be an official arm of the DNC.

Campbell Brown should be gone.

I’m not at all worried about her ability to handle the press, I just resent the notion that she is being kept under wraps because she is ignorant. Any interview she does is not a platform for her to talk about her own views. She represents John McCain now, and she needs to be tight on the campaign’s message. Joe Biden is not out there doing pressers every day, and God knows Obama is one of the most secretive presidential candidates in memory. Am I the only one who remembers the Rezko presser where he took 8 questions and then stomped off, peeved that he had to put up with that? McCain is an open book (sometimes too open) and Palin will be, too.

During her two speeches I’ve seen on TV, I found her quite disarming, and I am sure she will be in no way intimidated by the likes of Tom Broke-jaw, Sissy Matthews, and Bill O’Rly.

Everybody knows they would just try to trip her up by asking her some complicated, absurd question about some little known country. Besides, she’ll need to be interviewed in a special segment by someone more neutral and fair, maybe Fox News.

Why show up at all?

I’d render these rabid dogs in the MSM useless. I’m guessing McCain finally realizes exactly why he was a media darling. The problem for the MSM is that he won’t try to be liked at this point (such as a current sitting President I won’t mention).

She will hopefully be declaring the Sabbath Day a day of rest - and worship the Lord who placed her in the position that she is in.
