Many on this site have trashed McCain for years and now that he has selected Palin all is right with the world...ho hum. Many on this site have been attacking Obama for months, and all other opponents as well. Believe what you believe, fight for that, but don’t assassinate someone’s character and then complain when someone attacks your’s. Live by the sword and die by the sword. It cuts both ways.

Actually yes. He had the guts to form the Goldwater coalition (Conservatives, Libertarians and Right to Lifers) and set that coalition up for the next 12 years in Palin. The amount of balls that took is stunning. The party has been taken back from the Rockerfeller / wall street crowd.
What does this have to do with politics?
The Left has ALWAYS assassinated the character of those they oppose. OK, fine. I won't complain any more when they shoot at ours. I'll just have fun digging dirt on theirs and throwing it around.
One does not have to live by the sword to see it’s wise to arm yourself against unjust attacks.
I don’t see this as an attack on Obama’s character. It is what it is, the words are on tape. The viewer will have to decide if it is an innocent slip or something else.
I think it would be a mistake for McCain to use this, but to ask the rank and file to pretend an Obama gaffe never happened is silly.
For the record, McCain wasn’t my first choice, but he is the only realistic option when it comes to defeating Obama.
