Sad.
I expect the MSM to begin paying attention to him again very soon. Ultra-conservative, against McPalin? He'll be their darling!
Alan Keyes is just one more frustrated, angry American - he happens to be a little bit more nuts than the rest of us.
Not judging his passion, just his prominence.
Alan, these comments just show that you've lost your mind I'm afraid.
Alan Keyes should try getting elected to anything. I used to love him and but he really drawn himself into a box. Alan Keyes should be out on the campaign trail with McCain and Palin. He should be working to get conservatives elected and helping to rally the minority vote but instead he continues to marginalize himself into a corner of ineffectiveness. He is a smart man and he should be able to make the case for conservatism to more than the very narrow group that still supports him. Alan Keyes has wasted so much promise. No one listens to him anymore but himself.
It amazes me how many Christians like Keyes ignore the bible and ignore the fact that God rarely lifts up the self righteous to greatness. He lifts up flawed men and women, sinners, and makes them into more than they could ever be without him. Alan Keyes should know this. I hope Alan casts off his yoke of bitterness. Far too many conservatives seem to value the yoke of marginalization and demonization so much that they are afraid of victory and like the man who buried his masters money because he feared him so they sit and point unable to see a blessing when it is right in front of them. Alan Keyes sadly has become an example of how very small a man can become through sheer force of his intellect.
Men of God were never small men, they weren’t marginalized loners navel-gazing themselves into Heaven.
Keyes really is a brilliant man
Maybe so but he doesn’t have enough common sense to deal with the common folks.
I think there is a whole lot of projection and very little trust and faith.
Perhaps these two believe that they could not work with McCain without desctructive compromises and subsequently do not believe that others can either.
Then the do not seem to believe that *perhaps* Palin can do what they do not beleive themselves able to do.
Both men should know of Joseph, Esther, and Daniel who all served unbelievers whithout desstructive compromise.
So I like to think that perhaps Palin can walk in their shoes.
This isn’t the Alan Keyes I supported a few years ago.
Is their still an Alan Keyes fan club on FR???
I’m not a Palin fan, but Keyes is a 5 star wacko. Keyes and his buffoonish Senate campaign were the driving force behind Obama’s rise to national prominence. Relieved by Keyes’ bizarre behavior of the need to campaign at all in his own state, Obama hit the road, speaking at campaign fundraisers for other Democrat candidates all over the country, and made himself into a national figure in the process. Ironically though, I think a lot of the adoring Palinbots currently peppering FR with Palin-worshipful posts, are the same ones who were peppering FR with Keyes-worshipful posts back during that Senate campaign.
Out of curiosity, why aren’t you a Palin fan?
So? Alan hasn't changed, or moved an inch.
Look around. These are the folks who have moved with the political wind. And now they're backing the guy who will govern exactly like what he is, a Democrat.
Yeah, poor Alan is getting weirder every year.
Because she’s utterly unqualified. Not a chance in the world she’d have been offered the VP if she was a man with identical qualifications, and the Republican Party is SUPPOSED to be against affirmative action tokenism. And if the Democrats had nominated a woman with a pregnant 17 year old daughter and a nursing infant, the same people who are celebrating Palin’s nomination would have been howling about her being an example of the sort of liberal feminists who are bringing about the downfall of American society by pretending that a high-powered career is perfectly compatible with motherhood, and that leaving the raising of their children to nannies is just fine.
And, no, Todd Palin has NOT been a stay-at-home dad, so even if mothers don’t really need to raise their children as long as the father fills the role instead, this family doesn’t cut it. As the NYT helpfully pointed out, when Sarah found out that she was a carrying a Down Syndrome baby, she didn’t tell her husband for several days, because he was out of town, out in the oil fields. Mom’s busy being governor, dad’s out in the oil fields not coming home at night, and Bristol is off in bed with her boyfriend, and not bothering to use contraception. And somehow, nobody managed to tell the other children prior to Trig’s birth that he had DS, leaving 14 year old Willow to notice his appearance right after he was born and ask if he had DS. Yeah, he made an unexpectedly early appearance, but supposedly Dad was there in the waiting room too, with the children . . . not sharing important info about the new baby with them.
Something is way off with this family. Shades of Keyes family, with the daughter who picked the middle of her father’s Senate campaign as the time to announce to the world that she’s a lesbian. If Palin really had such a devotion to “family values”, she’d notice that much more of her time and attention are needed at home, and not go galivanting off on the campaign trail, aiming for a job which will take up a huge amount of time if she does it justice, and also involve relocating the family just around the time her 17 year old gives birth to a baby sired by an immature 18 year old boy. If she ends up as VP, I fully expect to see 4 years of tabloid headlines emanating from her family.
Wow.
I guess you REALLY hate Dick Cheney and his family, huh?
What with his LESBIAN daughter who adopted a child with her LESBIAN partner.
I thought that Mary Cheney gave birth to the child.
You’re right.
I guess adoption was not an option.
Turkey baster worked fine.
LOL
