The mom and dad and child overshadow Piper, I think, in that picture. She’s sure a cutie though - right from first sight.
Confession time. I certainly didn’t warm to Cindy McCain, at first that is. I thought she was a trophy wife. No more! She walks the walk. She’s done more good than the millions who simply talk a good game. That’s pure joy on her face when looking at Sarah holding that child. That can’t be faked or orchestrated like Obama’s candidacy. Mother Teresa is smiling up there.
**So we accompanied them up the hill, we went right to the bus, where it was, and Governor Palin, Senator McCain, Cindy, Todd Palin, they’re all standing there. We’re in this inner circle with just us and them, and the Secret Service agent, and they came right up to us and thanked us for coming out, said they loved our sign, and Governor Palin immediately said, “May I hold your daughter?” and our daughter Chloe, who’s five, went right to her, and I have some pictures I’d love to send you maybe when I’m done here, but Governor Palin was hugging Chloe, and then her little daughter brought their baby Trig who has Down syndrome from the bus, he was napping, and Chloe went right over and kissed him on the cheek, and my son Nolan who’s nine, he thanked her.**
This brings tears to my eyes.
PS. I am the grandmother of a Down Syndrome baby!

I've met people from all classes who tend to dress up a bit much in order to diminish a sense of shyness....kind of like an outer shield. From what I have seen of Cindy, she fits this profile perfectly. God love her. She has no reason to be shy, but sometimes it's just there.

Cindy McCain has a special ed masters. Sarah has a specil baby. God bless both the McCain and Palin families, and a special blessing to this father who called in to Rush!

My 41-year-old sister, Gloria, has Down’s Syndrome... it is really nice to finally be fashionable! :) Just kidding; it is hard work, but worth every minute of it.
This makes me even more hopeful for the country.
