LOL!

I’ll have to get one of the kids to work on that.

Should’ve added to it:
“Knock Knock.”
“Who’s there?”
“It’s The Marine Corp Mrs. French. Can Hollis come out and play?”
“Not today boys! He’s polishing his head!”

I think French is being factually correct but is allowing people to assume more of his Marine Corps experience.

This reminds me of Dan Rather and his claims of being a former Marine.

PLC, as I investigated this for myself back in 1976, was Platoon Leaders Course, and conducted in two phases at Quantico.

This is how it worked:

PLC was two summers of training.

The first summer of training (6-wks) was held between your junior and senior year at university.

The second 6-wks of training was held immediately after graduation from university.

Once complete you received your Reserve commission.

It was in no way associated with ROTC.

With a head like his, we can use him as a bore brush.

“French listed his service as “USMC (ROTC) 1977-1978,” which he later explained was six weeks training at the Quantico, Va., Marine Corps base.”

If PLC is not related to ROTC, it sounds like he is getting his lies confused.

It is amazing that when liberal politicians want credibility they claim to have served in the military. Yet, in their everyday political lives they cannot wait to screw the military. I guess it is because they know the military is forbidden to respond, leaving that to certain few Generals and civilians. Since the MSM fails misreably in vetting news, we’re lucky to have watchdogs point out lying SOSts.

I’m a seminary drop out, and I don’t put my seminary time on my resume.

that he quit, got kicked out, resigned in lieu of being terminated or whatever. Instead, he claims military service in the Marine Corps Reserve on his official website biography and that is a blatant falsehood.

He didn't need to be kicked out or resign. Looks like he did the 1st increment of the PLC program skipping the second six week period. He had 'military' service if you can call it that. He got paid, had gear issued to him, but didn't come back to finish the program. I wonder if he turned in his uniforms.

i am going to guess this info will be off his site very shortly if not already. anyone get a screenshot? but he would seem to have plausible deniability, even though it’s total BS.

It's probably legit. As others have noted, PLC is a little summer camp for college students who want to play Marine for six weeks. If you get booted, they discharge you as a Private.

It's not like being in the Fleet. At all. The typical USMC L/Cpl would walk into a PLC platoon and run the joint.

PLC is just basic training for USMC reserve officers, enough to satisfactorily transform a college student to a 2nd Lt. If you pass the test, you've just survived the first washout attempt, that's all.

The Basic School is where they really see who makes the cut to be a US Marine officer.

So, basically, this shmuck from Alaska is pretending he was in the Marines. Okay, technically he was... for six weeks.

Instead of “Troopergate”, it should be changed to “Obamagate”.

Yeah, it's been a long process getting accepted, but he has been. He was supposed to do the first of a six week this summer, but so many candidates have applied — they ran out of beds. Since he wasn't able to do the two six week sessions, he will now do one ten week. He's pumped.

I hope it's everything he prays it will be and then some. Those candidates that returned this summer and accepted their commissions said they'd never, ever want to go through it again, but they are so contented that they did.

I was stunned to see the level of educational background of those who went. Three were in law school at St. Louis U, two were in law school at Washoo, the rest were Bachelors’ and Masters’ degree holders. And to think John Kerry said if you don't get your education — all that's left is the Army. What a jerk!

he will now do one ten week.

Ten weeks is the way to go. The Corps packs a lot of crap into those ten weeks. But none is personal. As long as he is in good condition for the pull ups and running he should be good. Having skin is helpful too. When the classes are full like that surviving the first direct encounter with the staff is key. You may not have another direct encounter for a week. Helps one get over the culture shock.

He has been in training for the last six months. He was a D-I quarterback, but he's taken it to a whole new level. His PFT is “High,” but I've heard even a 300 is no good unless you do it all up-hill, so since he passed his run time, he's started running 3.5 miles up-hill every morning.

He's maxed out on crunches and has the minimum required pull-ups — maybe one or two extra but the candidates all said practice not sleeping or eating and having you're stuff so you can put it on in the dark, find it in the dark, shave in the dark. Two minutes to get ready is all he'll have. Now, from my standpoint as his mother, THAT will be the miracle. ;-)

”Stands out in my mind that if he is embellishing his Military Record, what else is he embellishing for votes?"

Probably everything! He’s a democrat isn’t he?
